Maple Leaf® Top Dogs™ – Get Grillin’ (REVIEW and closed GIVEAWAY)

Congratulations to the winners: Kevin Linkie and Doris Calvert! My family loves to bbq – let me rephrase that! My hubby bbq’s, the kids LOVE to play outside while he does this and my family LOVES to eat the food that he makes 🙂 My family also loves to eat hotdogs. While “Top Dogs™ are made from only the best ingredients”, I still do try to limit that number of times we serve them, but when I do – they get gobbled up in no time flat – yum, yum! We did an experiment and grilled up three different packs … Continue reading

popchips™: A Healthier Snacking Alternative! (REVIEW)

popchips™ are an amazing creation! They are potatoes that are not fried or baked – they are popped (using some heat and a little pressure) – seasoned and voila, they are the perfect healthy snack for the whole family to enjoy – guilt free! I LOVE the popchips™ pledge: Our all-natural pledge: no fake colors, no fake flavors, no preservatives, no fluorescent orange fingertips, and no wiping your greasy chip hand on your jeans. Now, that is classic! I love how they have no artificial colouring or artificial flavours. Those are two key points that I like to see in … Continue reading

The Wiggles In Concert (REVIEW)

My family was fortunate enough to attend the Wiggles in Concert in Toronto when they came to celebrate their Wiggles Big Birthday Event (it’s their 20th Birthday)! The Wiggles are such a capturing children’s music group. Their music is catchy, fun and entertaining! It was impressive how the Wiggles included the children in the concert by coming right out into the audience to say hello and collect some of the gifts that the children brought for them including roses for Dorothy and bones for Wags. We are hoping that Jeff feels better soon because he was unable to join the … Continue reading

Do You See a Money Tree? (Review and closed Giveaway)

Congratulations to the winners: Maya Wade, Penny Minding Mom, Deanna T, Shari G, tinatchick! We received a copy of Do You See a Money Tree?, an activity guide about money for children written by Ellen Roseman, the Toronto Star’s personal finance and columnist, for review. I was excited to see this book, as teaching our children money sense is something that is very important to me. We are living in a “gimme” society these days where many children are growing up thinking that money does grow on trees. I can’t believe how many toys our children have compared to what … Continue reading

Boogie Wipes – REVIEW and (closed) GIVEAWAY

Congrats to edmontonjb – the winner of this Giveaway! We absolutely LOVE Boogie Wipes in our house! Especially when the kids are sick with those runny nose or stuffy nose illnesses. Nose wiping can be such a struggle with young children. My son REALLY doesn’t like to have his nose wiped. However, with this amazing invention of Boogie Wipes (that comes in a few different varieties: Great Grape, Fresh Scent, Magic Menthol and Simply Unscented), I can simply hand him one, he wipes his nose and the schmoogies (that’s what we call Boogies in our house) simply wipe away. It’s … Continue reading

REVIEW: Winnie The Pooh comes to Theatres Friday July 15th, 2011

Inspired by five stories from A.A. Milne’s books in Disney’s classic, hand-drawn art style, Winnie The Pooh hits the theatres this Friday July 15th, 2011! My family had the privilege of seeing an advanced screening of this movie this past weekend in Toronto at the AMC Theatres at Yonge and Dundas Square (VERY nice and SUPER clean theatres, I might add). It was my son’s very first movie in a theatre (he is 2.5 years old) and my daughter’s 3rd movie. We weren’t too sure how my son would react to the theatre in general – would it be too … Continue reading

Prairie Naturals Organic Whey Protein Powder (REVIEW and GIVEAWAY)

Mornings are rather chaotic around our house to say the least! I’ve recently been enjoying some faster breakfast options for myself, one of which is an Organic Whey Protein Powder made by Prairie Naturals. I was sent the Wild Field Berry flavour to test out. Although I do find that you need to have an acquired taste to enjoy a protein powder shake, once you get used to them, they really are yummy! What I enjoy the most is when I do have a bit more time and I can add a scoop of powder to my homemade smoothies. This … Continue reading

What to Expect The First Year (REVIEW and GIVEAWAY)

You can read this review, but the giveaway is now closed. Congratulations to tumyiix and samorjj! I received a copy of What to Expect The Toddler Years which is now being phased out by What to Expect The First Year by Heidi Murkoff, Arlene Eisenberg and Sandee Hathaway and What to Expect the Second Year. As I mentioned in my review of What to Expect When You’re Expecting, this is a book series that I highly recommend! These books answer what I want to say is “almost every question a parent will have”, but I’m sure that is not quite … Continue reading
