What to Expect The First Year (REVIEW and GIVEAWAY)

You can read this review, but the giveaway is now closed. Congratulations to tumyiix and samorjj!

I received a copy of What to Expect The Toddler Years which is now being phased out by What to Expect The First Year by Heidi Murkoff, Arlene Eisenberg and Sandee Hathaway and What to Expect the Second Year.

As I mentioned in my review of What to Expect When You’re Expecting, this is a book series that I highly recommend!

These books answer what I want to say is “almost every question a parent will have”, but I’m sure that is not quite the case. However, What to Expect The First Year is written in a format that covers the stages by month of development and it does cover SO many of the questions, concerns, fears etc. that a parent may have!

The book covers topics from newborn screening, home births and the resulting at-home newborn care, vitamins and vaccines, milk allergies, causes of colic, sleep problems, SIDS, returning to work, sibling matters, weaning, sippy cups, the expanded role of the father and much more. It provides advice, suggestions and strategies for many common problems that will arise during the first year.

And now for the giveaway…If you are pregnant, if you know someone who is pregnant or if you know someone who is trying to get pregnant, this would make the perfect book! This is also the perfect book if you have a baby now and you have questions that are unanswered.

Please note: I am trying out RaffleCopter as a means of giveaway entries. Rafflecopter is still very new and is currently in “test mode” so there still may be a few glitches (on their part and on mine!). I’d love your feedback on it – do you love it, like it, hate it and why! You can leave your feedback in the comments on this post. The comments on this post aren’t included in the random entries – those are tracked in Rafflecopter.

Products for review are provided free of cost to Multi-Testing Mommy by the manufacturer or a representing PR agency. Opinions expressed belong to Multi-Testing Mommy and are NOT influenced in any way.

My little one doesn’t have a lot of hair yet but my tip is just wash it every other day 🙂 Less is more!

My daughter has long hair, and when it has knots in it, I get her to sing me a song as I’m brushing it, so it at least somewhat distracts her!

I actually have an outdated version of this book, with advice like “borrow or rent an answering device for your phone to let people know you are resting” and “try to limit your smoking around the baby”. I could definitely use an updated copy!

This would be for my best friend who is expecting her first child… She is really scared and unsure about what kind of parent she will be; she’s actually afraid of the everyday stuff and I think this book would be really helpful to her.

  9. Our Granson is 7 months old.

This book would be perfect for our daughter and son-in-law as they are new parents.

These books are by far the best books that have been written in regards to parenting.

    Thanks for the giveaway. ~Pauline

I lent my copy to a friend after my first baby. Learned a lot in the book and also received the ‘don’t lend things out’ lesson as this is one ofthe many things I never saw again. I miss my book. I find myself reaching for it with my new baby and thinking that I really need to get another one. Then I forget. Please send me the book….. samorjj(at)hotmail.com
