Congratulations to the winner, Anne T.!
When I was approached by @EthicalBean to review their coffee, I was jumping up and down for joy! Oh, how I LOVE my coffee!

Little did I know the extra treat that I was in for….the incredible quality of coffee that was awaiting for me to try and the incredible customer support at Ethical Bean.
I was fortunate enough to sample:
Rocket Fuel-French Roast
The lovechild of dark alchemy and complete combustion. A hammering dark roast, blended to display body, balance and a dazzling dark cocoa-laced finish.
Decaf-Dark Roast
A very undecaf decaf. Gobs of body, intriguing chocolate character. Dynamite as drip, scintillating as espresso.
Mellow-Medium Roast
Ommm. Serenity Now. Medium body, nutty aroma and a sweet brightness. Stirring memories of hazelnuts and caramelized sugar.

When my package arrived in mail, it was like time stood still as I slowly unwrapped the brown paper – the aromas seeping out of the beautifully packaged box was incredible I almost feel over. I was breathing deeply at that moment, let me tell you! I wonder if the caffeine took affect purely by “osmosis” or something?!
Ironically enough, I had a new burr grinder arrive the day before, so I was all set to grind my beans and put this coffee to the test.
And put it to the test I did! I had it morning, noon and night! Mmmm….coffee…..
Here are my thoughts:
Rocket Fuel
This one was my favourite. I’m a dark roast type of girl and this one was the boldest one that they sent. It was rich in flavour and the beans weren’t oily at all (I’m not sure what it means when they are oily other than the fact that they bung up my grinder, so I was a happy camper!).
Mellow
This coffee was mellow and although I could tell it was top quality, it was a bit too mellow for me. I did find that I needed to add an extra scoop of this one in order to enjoy it to the fullest. I have NO doubt that some people would really enjoy this one!
Decaf
Now, I’m not a huge Decaf fan simply because one of the main reasons why I enjoy my coffee so much is because well….I require caffeine in order to function with my two young children. Should I mention that coffee is my sanity on some days. When I take my first sip of coffee later in the afternoon, it is like time stands still and for that brief millisecond, all is well with the world – and rapidly I am brought back to reality. Anyhow, I digress. The Decaf coffee is good – for a Decaf because, Ethical Bean sure is right! Sometimes, us coffee fans just want to enjoy a good cup of coffee, but it’s too late at night to risk the caffeine intake because sleep is very IMPORTANT to us Moms! VERY IMPORTANT!
Added bonus: Once opened, the coffee bean bags turn into ziplock bags – this is BRILLIANT! It is the most handy, easy to use coffee bean bag that I have ever used.
So there you have it – Ethical Bean is good coffee. Good quality, good taste!
I will NOT let it go unmentioned that Ethical Bean coffee is fairtrade certified organic coffee which makes it that step above many others!
And, the people at the company take their work VERY seriously. In fact, for the first time ever with a review, I got a full page hand written and very personalized letter from Aaron, the “Director of Coffee” at the company. I was very touched by his words and could tell by this letter as well as by the many email conversations I had with their Marketing Department that they take their work very seriously.
Fair Trade. Organic. Community-minded. Environmentally-aware. Four concepts that are taken very seriously at Ethical Bean.
You can even purchase any of Ethical Bean’s eight varieties Online with free shipping on orders over $50 in Canada.

I don’t take anything in my coffee.
Normally, I take milk and sugar.
But with Ethical Bean Coffee, no need for sugar – the fact they are a B Corporation sweetens every cup.;)
I’m trying to be good and take less sugar. I try to opt for raw sugar and a spot of milk!
