Beauty and the Beast in Disney Digital 3D arrives in Theatres today! *REVIEW*

Last weekend, my daughter and I had the fun opportunity to view an Advanced Screening of Beauty and the Beast in Disney Digital 3D”! When I was in Grade 9, my best friend bought me a copy of Beauty and the Beast on VHS (ok now am I admitting just how old I really am?!) for Christmas (or my birthday – it was *that* long ago that I actually don’t remember). There was a sentimental reason for this gift that unfortunately I don’t remember any more, but nonetheless, it was a wonderful gift! I just recently passed along that video … Continue reading

ARM & HAMMER® Laundry Detergent

I’ve been known to have my favourite laundry detergent alternatives when washing my clothing, however, I realize that this is not for everyone. I have been testing out two ARM & HAMMER® laundry detergents: ARM & HAMMER® Plus the Power of OxiClean® and ARM & HAMMER Essentials® Liquid Laundry Detergent. If I were to pick one of the two detergents for my preference, it would definitely be the Essentials® one as it has a lighter scent and it contains plant-based soaps and has a dye-free formula. It also contains no phosphates or bleaches. Both detergents have cleaned our clothing equally … Continue reading

Our Experience at Disney on Ice presents 100 Years of Magic

As a holiday adventure, my family and I had the priviledge of going to see Disney on Ice presents 100 Years of Magic this past weekend in Toronto at the Rogers Center.Disney characters and artwork ©Disney, Disney/Pixar characters ©Disney/Pixar. We surprised the kids by not telling them where we were going, which always makes for a super special and exciting time. As we got closer to the venue, the kids continued to make their guesses as to where we were going and what we were doing. As we entered Rogers Center and the kids saw all of the signs that … Continue reading

Kidz-Med® VeraTemp® Non-Contact Thermometer

It’s that time of year again when the kiddies start coming down with cold and flu bugs like they are going out of style. My daughter gets sick a lot. Despite our best efforts to give her the proper food, vitamins and sleep, she still seems to get hit with every single cold bug that flies through her school. This means we have to take her temperature A LOT! I remember when she was younger, we had a forehead swiping thermometer. We liked it, but we found that you had to swipe too many times for an accurate reading and … Continue reading

Book/App Review and #Giveaway: Penelope the Purple Pirate by Melissa Northway

Today I’d like to introduce you to a fun and adventurous children’s story called Penelope and the Purple Pirate by Melissa Northway. Penelope is a girl who enjoys adventures. This story is about a “pirate” adventure that swoops Penelope away from her pending nap time. The story is cute, fun and has no “scary” aspects of pirates. In fact, the pirate faces all have happy faces on them. I even like the fact that there is a positive lesson to be learned in the story about sharing and generosity. The iPhone App is cute and provides educational entertainment for young … Continue reading

Book Review: Howard B. Wigglebottom and the Power of Giving: A Christmas Story

Many children get very wrapped up in the whole notion that they will be receiving gifts during that holidays and they sometimes forget the importance of giving. In my family, we try very hard to stress the importance of giving by talking about it and by also giving to others who are in need through toy donations, food banks and various charities. The book Howard B. Wigglebottom and the Power of Giving: A Christmas Story by Howard Binkow and Susan F. Cornelison is a wonderful story about a bunny rabbit named Howard who forgets about the importance of giving. Howard … Continue reading

Lunapads – an Eco-Friendly Menstrual Product (Review and #Giveaway)

A few months ago, I started talking to Be Prepared Period on twitter. They host a monthly #periodtalk and from there, I was introduced to Lunapads.com. I was very curious to try out Lunapads but I truly had no idea what to expect. I was excited at the prospect of not creating so much garbage waste during that time of the month. My pads arrived and I eagerly awaited for my period to come (how often does that happen?!) so that I could test out these new pads. Actually, I decided to try them out BEFORE my period came so … Continue reading
