Last weekend, my daughter and I had the fun opportunity to view an Advanced Screening of Beauty and the Beast in Disney Digital 3D”!
When I was in Grade 9, my best friend bought me a copy of Beauty and the Beast on VHS (ok now am I admitting just how old I really am?!) for Christmas (or my birthday – it was *that* long ago that I actually don’t remember). There was a sentimental reason for this gift that unfortunately I don’t remember any more, but nonetheless, it was a wonderful gift! I just recently passed along that video as we now own it on DVD and had no use for the VHS version.
I have watched Beauty and the Beast so many times, I don’t think I have enough fingers and toes to count! I absolutely love the movie. I love the story, the music and the lessons. So, having the opportunity to watch it in 3D made me absolutely giddy!
I’ve only ever seen one other movie in 3D and it was quite a while ago, so I was unsure of exactly what to expect. I think I actually made an audible sound when I first put on my sexy 3D glasses and saw the word Disney pop out of the screen.
Not only did I get to watch an incredible movie, but I got to see it in 3D and feel like I was really there, in the story with Belle and the Beast! When there were rain and snow scenes, it literally looked like it was precipitating in the theatre.
I loved how even though I know this movie like the back of my hand that there were many surprises involving the 3D element. I never knew when the next person or object was going to pop out right in front of my face like I could reach out and touch it.
My daughter was also unsure about the 3D element, but coming out of the movie, she announced that she hopes she can see every future movie in 3D.
I highly recommend going to see this wonderful movie while it is in theatres! It is well worth it. I came out feeling like a child again (in a good way!).
