Hardwood Floors vs Carpet

When my husband and I were looking for our first home, many of the houses that we looked at clearly had young children. We could tell this by the decor of the bedrooms, the toys and the messes. Knowing that we were eventually planning on having children, it was important to me that we had as little broadloom as possible in our house because I knew that having hardwood floors were easier to clean (and as an added bonus, they look good too). I knew that we didn’t have a lot of disposible income and if we did purchase a … Continue reading

Earth’s Berries – an Eco Friendly way to clean your clothing! (GIVEAWAY)

We have mentioned Earth’s Berries before on here and they are so amazing that we want to mention them again, and again, and again! Earth’s Berries or Soap Nuts “aren’t technically nuts. They’re fruit, taken from the soapberry tree (Sapindus mukorrosi). In appearance, they’re similar to the lychee nut, yet they’re not grown for consumption. Thanks to their high concentration of foaming “saponin,” soap nuts are used throughout the world as cleaning agents.” (taken directly from http://www.earthsberriesoapnuts.com) I bought two 1 kg bags of Soap Nuts back in April (you get free shipping for orders $60+) and I am just … Continue reading

OxiClean® Versatile Stain Remover Powder (REVIEW)

I received a bucket of OxiClean® Versatile Stain Remover Powder to test out in my home. This powder is a “new formula” for OxiClean® that contains 40% more oxygen power per scoop. I really like using OxiClean® to boost my laundry, especially my whites loads. I find that it helps to brighten the whites and helps to get the clothing that much cleaner. I use a very natural type of laundry “soap” that is AMAZING, but there are times when the stains just won’t come out. I find that after adding a small scoop of OxiClean® Versatile Stain Remover Powder … Continue reading

Buying a Home: First Time Home Buyers Guide from RateSuperMarket.ca

Information for First Time Homebuyers When my husband and I were first married, we were both VERY eager to get out of our basement apartment that we were renting and into our first home. Immediately after our wedding, my hubby we sat down and figured out our financial situation and we started to look for a house. We had NO idea what we were doing or how we should start and our first search within our price range led us to a run down house in a terrible neighbourhood. I walked away crying and thinking that we would … Continue reading

Fun Wall Art from Bright Star Kids (REVIEW)

My son’s room is the room that we painted and decorated when we first found out we were expecting a baby. We painted it yellow and green, added a fun chair rail as well as some gender neutral decor! It was perfect for our baby girl and for our son when he was a baby. Now that he is almost 3, it’s time to “boy it up” with some fun little boy decorations. Bright Star KIds has some really fun Wall Art in the form of Removable Stickers that is just perfect for the job! We chose Super Cars Wall … Continue reading

Seventh Generation: Environmentally Friendly Cleaning and Baby Care Products (REVIEW)

I’ve recently been introduced to a brand called Seventh Generation, a brand that truly cares about the environment. Ever since my first child was born, I have become more and more aware of the impact that we have on our environment. I have also made attempts to be conscious of the types of products that I use on and around my children as many products contain harsh chemicals that over time can have a negative impact on their health. Not only have I changed the products that I use (for the most part), but I also have tried to make … Continue reading
