Book Review: Simply Salad

I received a copy of Simply Salads by Jennifer Chandler for review. Not only did I get some great ideas for some different salads to make, but I also learned how to make my own croutons and salad dressings. I will never, ever buy croutons again! After learning from author Jennifer Chandler how simple it is to make my own, I will always do this instead of buying them. AND, no longer will my stale bread go in my green bin! From now on, whenever bread isn’t moldy but is past the fresh stage, I will follow the instructions in … Continue reading

REVEW: Rock ‘N Learn DVDs

Rock n Learn has a huge line of educational videos for children ranging from intro to Kindergarten to multiplication and science. We received a bunch of videos from Rock n Learn a while ago and recently we received Alphabet Exercise and Letter Sounds. My daughter, who is 4, enjoyed watching these dvd’s. I have to say, I found them a little bit on the cheesy side. However, if she enjoys watching something that has an educational side to it, I am all for it! When one of the videos got to the “how to print” section, my daughter was so … Continue reading

Book Review: Baby Smarts

After studying my Bachelor’s Degree in Child Studies, I am especially interested in studies and discussion surrounding the early years and the importance of brain stimulation. Apparently, a baby’s brain is 250% times more active than that of an adult, that is just crazy! I am lucky in that I studied Child Studies, I’ve worked in daycares, I’ve done a ton of babysitting, I was a swim instructor, I taught piano to children and I taught Kindergarten. I’ve had many opportunities to learn games, songs, poems, etc. to do with young children. Having said that, I found that the book … Continue reading

REVIEW: My Little Seat

When I came across My Little Seat, I was pretty excited to try it out. I constantly have a booster chair in my car, I don’t like trekking it around everywhere and restaurant high chairs are often so gross (even though we do have one of those great covers). When I received my sample to try out, I just couldn’t wait. I set it up on our kitchen chair, but unfortunately our kitchen chairs have a fairly high back and the “My Little Seat” didn’t work on our chairs. I was bummed. However, despite the fact that it doesn’t work … Continue reading

Review: President’s Choice Meats

I can’t believe President’s Choice products have been around for 25 years! I remember my very first exposure to President’s Choice when I was a kid. I really do. My Mom’s really good friend served us this delicious ice cream made by President’s Choice. Recently, I was given coupons to try out the new line of President’s Choice meats. We sampled the PC Air Chilled Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts, PC Free From Pork Back Ribs and PC Tender & Tasty Beef. My son truly enjoyed his very first ribs experience! By far, our family’s favourite were the Free From Pork … Continue reading

Recently, I was provided with a few samples of Skin by Monica products to try out. Am I ever grateful that have had the opportunity. I don’t know what I love more, the fact that all of the products are free of parabens, urea, alcohol, petroleum and other harmful chemicals or that they simply go on your skin so perfectly. Here is what I have tried: RESTORE MSM Facial Cleanser Orange BlossomComments: I simply LOVE the smell of this cleanser, more than any other facial cleanser that I have used.
