Book Review: Amazing Cows by Sandra Boynton

Shortly after my first child was born, we were introduced to Sandra Boynton, an amazingly fun, creative and talented children’s author. Almost immediately, Moo, Baa, La La La, The Belly Button Book, Barnyard Dance, Snuggle Puppy and Blue Hat, Green Hat became regular favourites in our house. I was super excited when Amazing Cows was released because it is slightly more unique than her other books. It is a collection of cow stories, poems, jokes a comic book and lots of fun! There are even many of Boynton’s other adorable animal friends like chickens, sheep and hippos involved in this … Continue reading

BOOK REVIEW: Beautiful Oops by Barney Saltzberg

As Barney Saltzbery says himself, “A life lesson that all parents want their children to learn: It’s OK to make a mistake. In fact, hooray for mistakes! A mistake is an adventure in creativity, a portal of discovery. A spill doesn’t ruin a drawing—not when it becomes the shape of a goofy animal. And an accidental tear in your paper? Don’t be upset about it when you can turn it into the roaring mouth of an alligator.” Saltzberg’s book Beautiful Oops, shows children through very tactile, beautiful and interactive examples that mistakes can turn into beautiful things! Beautiful Oops teaches … Continue reading

Holiday Gift Recommendation: If I Could Keep You Little by Marianne Richmond

If I Could Keep You Little by Marianne Richmond (Sourcebooks; ISBN: 978-1-4022-5559-5; Hard Cover $15.99; November 2010) is one of the sweetest books I think I’ve ever read. Maybe I’m so emotionally attached to this book because I feel like my “baby” is growing up way too fast right before my eyes, he turned two just over a month ago and it seems like just yesterday I gave birth to him! Anyhow, as a Mom, I could completely relate to this book, “If I Could Keep You Little I’d….But then I’d Miss…..” The repetitive text in this book makes it … Continue reading

Holiday Gift Recommendation: Oral B Pulsonic

I will admit that this might be a unique gift, but if I received this as a gift, I would LOVE it! Absolutely LOVE it! This toothbrush is certainly different, but positively different for sure. It is unlike other power toothbrushes that spin where you are supposed to keep them in place while you move it around your mouth slowly, something that I’ve never fully been able to get used to. This one, you brush somewhat regularly while it vibrates up to 27000 times per minute to clean your mouth incredibly! What I was most excited about this brush, other … Continue reading
