Book Review: Amazing Cows by Sandra Boynton

Shortly after my first child was born, we were introduced to Sandra Boynton, an amazingly fun, creative and talented children’s author. Almost immediately, Moo, Baa, La La La, The Belly Button Book, Barnyard Dance, Snuggle Puppy and Blue Hat, Green Hat became regular favourites in our house.

I was super excited when Amazing Cows was released because it is slightly more unique than her other books. It is a collection of cow stories, poems, jokes a comic book and lots of fun! There are even many of Boynton’s other adorable animal friends like chickens, sheep and hippos involved in this creation as well.

This book really and truly will keep children (and adults) amused for hours on end! It is something that can be read and reread many, many times.

There is a Table of Contents in the front of the book that helps you navigate through the 89 page adventure. This book is more like a collection of literature. It doesn’t flow, rather it is individual “cow pieces” that stand on their own. Each one is creative, funny and enjoyable for it’s own reasons.

My favourite piece has to be the “Notes on Cow Fashion”, a page filled with pictures of cows wearing various fashion accessories with cute anecdotes underneath them.
