Baking Tips for Making Sugar Cookies

Be sure to visit my tried and true simple recipe for Sugar Cookies after you read these tips. Here are my tips. These suggestions can be used in more recipes than just Sugar Cookies, but this is where I find them most useful. Put your cookie dough in the fridge for approximately 10 minutes prior to rolling. Use icing sugar instead of flour to make your surfaces (counter, hands and rolling pin) non-stick. This will not change the consistency of your cookies and it won’t make your cookies taste like flour on the outside. Use Rolling Pin Elastics to ensure … Continue reading

The no-cry picky eater solution by Elizabeth Pantley (Book Review)

My son is becoming one of the pickiest eaters I’ve ever known! This is why I was so happy to read this book. I have read all of Pantley’s books and have taken many great tips and pieces of advice from each and every single one of them. Just like any parenting book, there are always things that you don’t want to try or won’t work for you, but with Pantley’s books, there are more tips that … Continue reading

Chobani Greek Yogurt Has Come to Toronto!

Greek Yogurt has become somewhat of a trend, I’ve noticed lately. I didn’t understand why until I had the opportunity to sample some Chobani Greek Yogurt! It was so creamy yet low fat – brilliant! I love the fact that they are fruit on the bottom type yogurt too – it reminds me of some yogurt that I used to have when I was a kid. The five flavours that are available at participating Loblaws stores across the GTA and Hamilton are: Black Cherry, Strawberry, Peach, Plain and Pomegranate. My favourite was Black Cherry. I found it to be the … Continue reading

A Fun Sunday morning Quest at McDonalds #cbias #EqualCanada

This morning, the kids and I were in major need of a distraction. What better place to go than McDonalds where the kids are happy to play, have a fun meal and where I can watch them take advantage of their free Wifi. We arrived with plenty of time to play and for me to enjoy a hot drink. I ordered a Cappuccino and waited for a good 10 minutes before I received it (not sure why, but I finally did have to speak up), with the kids eager to play, we quickly got a table with a premium view … Continue reading

Sobeys Tasty Sensations by Compliments For the Holidays (REVIEW and GIVEAWAY)

Entertaining is a huge part of the Holidays for many families. We used to host a huge Holiday Open House at our house before we had children, however, since having kids, we have only done it once as it is much more difficult to pull off and we don’t have as much room. For us, the Holidays is about spending time with family and friends, but not everyone all at once! One of my favourite parts about entertaining is all of the fun appetizers. Sensations by Compliments found only at Sobeys has a large variety of options for entertaining. As … Continue reading
