It’s a Sizzling Summer Cash Giveaway

Summer Cash Giveaway Image

I don’t know about you and your family, but we spend more money during the summer months than we do the rest of the year. Whether it is on special treats for the kids, summer camp or family vacations, we seem to need extra money compared to the rest of the year (Christmas aside, of course). This year, our family isn’t doing a typical vacation because we have had some major expenses with our house and purchasing a new vehicle. I know if I were to win some money, I would likely put it towards a day trip or two … Continue reading

Does your child have a food allergy? Eating at restaurants can be a rather stressful experience when your child has a food allergy, especially when it is a serious one! Now I can say from first hand experience just how scary food allergies really are and I would never EVER wish a … Continue reading

Carving Out Some Time for ME with Summer TV #StreamTeam

Parenting is a 24/7 job, right?! Yes, this is true, but that doesn’t mean that we have to completely lose ourselves as individuals 24/7. We are well into Season 2 on Netflix and really enjoying it! I absolultely LOVE Netflix because it means that I don’t have to schedule my tv watching around shows, I can watch them at my own convenience. I … Continue reading

I LOVE Canon Digital Cameras! #30SummerDays {GIVEAWAY}

From as long as I can remember, I have always loved photography. To be specific, I LOVE to take photos! I love taking photos of people, nature and food. When I met my husband, I was SO excited to learn that he owned a GOOD camera, the kind that could be taken out of Auto Mode and would take amazing photos. His camera was a Canon and I almost instantly became comfortable with the Canon interface. When we had my daughter, I quickly learned that carrying around a HUGE camera was not always feasible, so we bought a Canon “point … Continue reading

Peanut Butter Cup S'mores

Do you enjoy campfires during the summer? Do you typically roast marshmallows? What is a campfire without roasted marshmallows, right?! The Peanut Bureau of Canada prepared the fixings for me and some fellow bloggers to make our own over a hot campfire and they were the most delicious treat ever! My only advice is make sure you bring enough for seconds and you have plenty of wet cloths available for afterwards! Oh and parents, practice saying the words “NO MORE Campfire Peanut … Continue reading

ABC Activities for Preschoolers ~ #ArtsyPlay

As a former Kindergarten teacher, I’ve always adored fun and crafty ABC activities as a first introduction to the alphabet and letter sounds. There are so many creative ways to engage children in ABC learning at a very young age, starting as early as 1 – 1.5 years of age! Perhaps during the VERY early years, the children see it more as fun art, but as they grow, the creative, fun and tactile experiences will provide them with a fun and engaging learning platform to be introduced to early literacy skills. Congratulations to our Top 3 posts from last week! … Continue reading

Three Cook Books Featuring Chicken, Slow Cooker and Vegan Recipes

Burrito and Stroganoff

As a cookbook collector and someone who cooks chicken for dinner 80% of the time, I was very interested in receiving the 125 Best Chicken Recipes cookbook by Rose Murray from publisher Robert Rose. I am always on the hunt for new chicken recipes to keep our menu interesting and to keep my family from chicken boredom! 125 Best Chicken Recipes has many easy to prepare recipes that are great for weeknight meals. One aspect of the book that I really liked was that many of the recipes include ingredients that I would normally stock or buy. I am not … Continue reading
