Shower Hug™

I received a Shower Hug™ for review just before my son was born. Boy, am I ever thankful! During pregnancy, my nipples were quite sore. They got worse after my son was born. His latch was not good at the beginning. That in combination with the fact that he is slightly tongue tied made for some painful nursing. My nipples were raw and sore. The mere thought of showering and having water hit my front side made me cringe. Enter: The Shower Hug–my saviour! The extremely soft and easy to wear Shower Hug made showering comfortable for me. The Shower … Continue reading

Multi-Testing Mommy Recommends Bella Band

Ingrid and Isabel has invented my must have item during this pregnancy! The Bella Band! The Bella Band is such a simple thing. It is a seamless tube of material that goes around your waist, hips and tummy in order to keep your pants from falling down and your high rise pant seams showing through all of your tops. If it weren’t for my Bella Band, you would see me a mile away, hiking up my pants every two seconds in order to ensure that they weren’t falling down. Seriously. I also anticipate using my Bella Band after my pregnancy … Continue reading

School Zone Workbooks

School Zone provided me with two workbooks to test out on my three year old daughter. Big Alphabet Workbook The Big Alphabet Workbook is just that: BIG! It is a HUGE workbook with activities such as letter recognition, beginning sounds and manuscript writing geared for children aged 3-5. As a former Kindergarten teacher, I have to say that I am not a HUGE fan of traditional “worksheets” in order to teach these skills, however, some children really do love doing them and if that is the case, this book is definitely for them. It is also great for those children … Continue reading

Breastfeeding: Mother-to-Mother

Jessica Solomon from Breastfeeding Basics was kind enough to send me a copy of her incredible and informative breastfeeding video called Breastfeeding Basics. With my first daughter, I breastfed for 13 months. We got off to a difficult start, but I was bound and determined to breastfeed. I went to clinics, read books and consulted websites. We battled improper latches, thrush and finding comfortable feeding positions due to my vertical c-section. But in the end, we made it through and both her and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience that we shared for 13 months. I am now pregnant again and … Continue reading

Rubbermaid Produce Savers

We buy a lot of berries in our household–strawberries, blueberries and raspberries are our favourites! I’ve always struggled with how to store them, but I will not struggle any longer! Rubbermaid has come up with a new product called the Produce Saver. It is a specially designed container for storing and keeping produce at its freshest. The containers come with a “Crisp Tray” insert that allows for air circulation underneath the produce in order to keep moisture away from the produce. The lids are also vented in order to allow the produce to breath. Multi-Testing Mommy has put these new … Continue reading

Get Set For Life Tour presented by Kids’ CBC

Our family had the privilege of seeing the dress rehearsal for the Get Set For Life Tour in Toronto, presented by Kids’ CBC this weekend. I think this just may have been the highlight of my 2 1/2 year old daughter’s life thus far! She got to see two of her favourite television characters (Curious George and Bo from Bo on the Go) LIVE! The show was hosted by Sid and Patty and featured Curious George, Bo on the Go along with many other Kids’ CBC characters such as Mamma Yamma, Saumon de Champlain, Drumheller and Captain Claw. The children … Continue reading

PURELL® Instant Hand Sanitizer Moisture Therapy

A little while back, I was sent a full size pump of Purell Instant Hand Sanitizer Moisture Therapy. I was VERY skeptical at first. In the past, I had tried many moisturizer based hand sanitizer products and didn’t care for the way they felt on my hands. There was always this “feeling” left on my hands after using this type of product. I have to say that this didn’t happen with Purell. Instead, it disappeared almost as quickly as regular Purell Handsanitizer Gel. And, on top of that, it even left my hands feeling silky! Imagine that. I keep a … Continue reading

Product Review: Bilingual Animal Sounds Guitar

The Bilingual Animal Sounds Guitar made by Leap Frog is an excellent gift for that toddler on your list who loves instruments, music and learning new things. The guitar is geared towards children 12 months to 3 years of age. My 2 1/2 year old daughter was immediately struck with it–although I do believe that the age span goes slightly older than it should. She enjoyed learning words as well as numbers in English and in French. The bright colours on the guitar make it very attractive to young children. It also appeared to be quite durable, as we all … Continue reading
