Formal Holiday Attire from PromGirl.net

It’s that wonderful time of the year when many of us look into our wardrobes and wonder what on earth we are going to wear. There are holiday parties, work functions, friend parties and family gatherings, each with their own formalities. What do you prefer to wear? A cocktail dress perhaps? Do you prefer to wear short dresses or formal dresses, red dresses, black dresses or something a bit different? For me, if I am going to wear a dress, I much prefer to wear a formal, long dress. I love black dresses, but I also love the looks of … Continue reading

Kidz-Med® VeraTemp® Non-Contact Thermometer

It’s that time of year again when the kiddies start coming down with cold and flu bugs like they are going out of style. My daughter gets sick a lot. Despite our best efforts to give her the proper food, vitamins and sleep, she still seems to get hit with every single cold bug that flies through her school. This means we have to take her temperature A LOT! I remember when she was younger, we had a forehead swiping thermometer. We liked it, but we found that you had to swipe too many times for an accurate reading and … Continue reading

Book/App Review and #Giveaway: Penelope the Purple Pirate by Melissa Northway

Today I’d like to introduce you to a fun and adventurous children’s story called Penelope and the Purple Pirate by Melissa Northway. Penelope is a girl who enjoys adventures. This story is about a “pirate” adventure that swoops Penelope away from her pending nap time. The story is cute, fun and has no “scary” aspects of pirates. In fact, the pirate faces all have happy faces on them. I even like the fact that there is a positive lesson to be learned in the story about sharing and generosity. The iPhone App is cute and provides educational entertainment for young … Continue reading

Unique, Fun and Practical Stocking Stuffers for Kids

As my hubby and I were wrapping the kids’ stockings this year, it occurred to me that children don’t require much to be happy. One of the items that we put in the kids’ stockings this year are those individual hot chocolate packets. We bought them 90% off at the end of the Christmas Season last year and I tucked them away for this year’s stockings. I am frugal and if I can get a good deal on something, I will! Unfortunately, I didn’t store them well and one of them got punctured. I found some bubble wrap to wrap … Continue reading
