Almond Bars a.k.a. Desperation Cake

Every year, I have a list of holiday treats that I make. One of those treats includes my Grandmother’s recipe for Almond Bars, otherwise known as Desperation Cake. I have no idea where the name Desperation Cake comes from, but that is ok. To me, it will always be called that. These bars are moist and the easiest bars ever to make with only 5 ingredients and ONE bowl.
