Moving and Easy Meals Day 2 – Broccoli and Cheese Soup in the Crockpot

Alison, our reviewer of all things baby is about to make a huge change in her life!

Yesterday, Alison shared how she made Salsa Chicken in her Crockpot. This was a super easy, 3 ingredient meal that turned out really well!

Please see today’s recipe choice while Alison continues her week leading up to her big move. She is taking a “Meals Made Easy” with just a Crockpot challenge in the week before she moves in order to allow her to pack up the rest of her kitchen!

Does anyone have any suggestions or tips for Alison regarding:
moving with a baby
moving in general
cooking with a crockpot

  1. Gosh, I remember the days when I could eat cheesy soups – they were the best, most comforting things ever!!! *sigh*

On a completely different train of thought, I always seem to buy crock pots and then never use them….:S

    Thanks for the recipe!

Oh man! I am going to have to come back and make these….no I am not moving, and our baby is 3, but these sound like quick, easy meals that you just throw together and not worry about until time to eat!

Moving is such a pain in the booty. My tip is to just take a timer and do as much as you can in 10 minutes, then set it for 10 and relax, or go to another room and do some in there, when you come back to the first room, you will notice what a difference it was from when you had started.

Oh and if baby is old enough to walk…hand them safe things to put in a box, and an empty box. Make a pile, and let them “pack” like Mommy. Either just tape up the box later, or when the child is sleeping, napping or eating, just reorganize the box. When I was moving I had a box that the 3 boys packed. It was just DVDs, but they all did it together, and they were so proud.

  3. I have moved several times and I don’t like it at all. I would rather have a headache! I would pick up half a dozen boxes from the liquor store and pack up those boxes and find a place to store them out of the way. Label in black felt marker. I would put, ‘Sara’s Room’ ‘My Room’ etc. On usedvictoria.com people sometimes are giving away packing boxes for free. There is probably one of these sites in your area 🙂
