Water Beads – an AMAZING Activity for Children

Calming Jars with Water Beads Canada

What are Water Beads? Water Beads are colourfast, non-toxic, and environmentally friendly “beads” that are a super absorbent polymer with the capability to absorb 80 – 100 times their dry weigh in water. Water beads can be used as a clean soil alternative for growing plants, decreasing your water time to every 3 – 5 weeks. They can also be used for colour and texture in floral arrangements, and most importantly (in my world), they can be used for activities for children! Water beads are shipped in a dehydrated, bead-like state. You simply add water and watch them grow, which … Continue reading

Preschool Educational Activities #ArtsyPlay {LINKY}

apple preschool science experiments

With so much back to school talk lately, I don’t want to leave the preschoolers in the dust as their education experience this fall is just as important! After all, the preschooler years from 1 to 5 are considered to be the formative years and are crucial in a child’s healthy development. Science experiments are a wonderful, hands on way to get preschoolers involved in learning. Tactile science experiments allow children to be fully engaged in their learning. Teaching your child a different language, including ASL (American Sign Language) helps their brain to develop and grow. ASL also allows children … Continue reading

A Visit to the Scenic Caves in Collingwood

Scenic Caves

One of my favourite memories is visiting the Scenic Caves in Collingwood with my mom, brother and sister when I was about 14. I enjoyed it so much that I knew I had to take my boys to experience it also and thanks to Amanda (Multi-Testing Mommy) I was able to do that. So for those of you who don’t know, The Scenic Caves are located in Collingwood about 1.5 hours away from Toronto. It is a “self-guided” tour through 13 various caves … Continue reading
