*Parenting Talk* Children and Behaviour

I was reading a great article over at Urban Moms written by Erin Little entitled Raising Sophie & Fiona. The article discusses Erin’s take on parenting with regards to discipline in particular. I found myself engrossed in self reflection after reading this article and wanted to share some of my thoughts. I realize that this can be a personal topic for discussion and I want to be clear that I do not pass any judgement on anyone’s parenting choices. Erin’s specific belief is that rewards don’t work and that they are short term fix. She also believes that people should … Continue reading

I Love to Shop Online!

Maybe it’s my computer addiction, maybe it’s laziness or maybe it is just about the convenience factor, but I have to say that over the past few years, I have thoroughly enjoyed many opportunities to shop online. In fact, in 2011, other than groceries, I did more of my shopping on line than I ever have in the past. For me, online shopping is the way to go and here is why: I don’t have to drag the children places that they have no interest in going to I can shop in my pyjamas in the comfort of my own … Continue reading

I don’t know about you, but my house gets all out of sorts during the month of December. Here is a list of the many things that I find challenging during the month of December: taking down year round decorations to make room for holiday ones storing holiday baking organizing gift wrapping and making room to wrap gifts storing gifts storing wrapped gifts putting away gift wrapping items finding a new home for new gifts making room for the Christmas Tree I’m sure there are more things, but between all of this and the holiday craziness, our house seems to … Continue reading

Our Experience at Disney on Ice presents 100 Years of Magic

As a holiday adventure, my family and I had the priviledge of going to see Disney on Ice presents 100 Years of Magic this past weekend in Toronto at the Rogers Center.Disney characters and artwork ©Disney, Disney/Pixar characters ©Disney/Pixar. We surprised the kids by not telling them where we were going, which always makes for a super special and exciting time. As we got closer to the venue, the kids continued to make their guesses as to where we were going and what we were doing. As we entered Rogers Center and the kids saw all of the signs that … Continue reading

Honibe – Honey Lozenge™ *REVIEW*

It’s that time of year again when it seems like someone in our family is always sick. We always try to have everything that we need on hand including a thermometer, fever medication and cough drops. I’ve been introduced to a wonderful new product that is made out of 99.9% pure Canadian honey: Honibe – Honey Lozenge™.
