Art with Anything is a very fun and unique Art Activity book that is written for children aged 4 to 10 in mind by MaryAnn F. Kohl.
I really like how the book is organized by week and each week focuses on a different type of craft material. It’s truly amazing the number of activities that one can do with the same type of material! This way, you can stay somewhat “set up” for the week without getting too many different things out. This book is written with the craft enthusiast in mind, however, you don’t have to do the activities by the day/week as suggested either.
Each week has the materials clearly laid out on the left hand column by the day so that you can be completely organized and then each activity is clearly described by the day in columns across the page from left to right.
There are some traditional and some more non traditional activities.
I found this book to be a very fun book with some exciting activities.
I have a 6 year old daughter who is always searching for craft ideas and although I am a somewhat creative person, it’s always wonderful to have a book nearby with ideas for those days where I just have Mommy brain and I can’t come up with something.
The materials that are used are address labels, aluminum foil, berry baskets, bubble wrap, buttons, cardboard, cardboard tubes, cds, cd cases, coffee filters, coffee grounds, contact paper, cotton balls, cotton swabs, cups, a digital camera, duct tape…..well, you get the picture, art with anything, literally!
