Maxs Pawsitively Exciting Childrens Book Blog Tour!

Meet my new friend, MAX:

He is furry, friendly and very smart. He is an ENGLISH LABRADOR! He is the first DOG AUTHOR I’ve ever “met”!

Max is stopping by here at Multi-Testing Mommy today on his very own Blog Book Tour!

When I found out about this wonderful opportunity, to have Max, the DOG AUTHOR, stop by my blog, I was very excited. What made me most excited was the ability to help Max promote his chosen charity, Leader Dogs for the Blind! I have always had a special little place in my heart for Leader Dogs. I think that they are the most special, incredible animals ever.

I think it also has to do with the fact that I’ve struggled with vision all of my life too. When I was in Grade One, I went to Sick Children’s Hospital where they decided that it was best that I wear a patch on my dominant eye. I spent the majority of my time walking around hardly able to see and I remember fantasizing what it would be like to have a Leader Dog to help me.

I wanted to introduce you to Max’s books:
Dogs Work Too! From Max’s Point of View (February 2011)

Color With Max Activity And Coloring Book

Dogs Move Too! From Max’s Point of View

When you purchase one of Max’s books, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Leader Dogs for the Blind, an organization that strives to enhance the lives of people who are blind and visually impaired.

I’ve had the privilege to read Dogs Move Too! From Max’s Point of View, a story about moving homes that is written from Max’s perspective. Max understands the confusion and the various emotions that a child goes through during a move. He shares all of this throughout his book in an empathetic way. I think that because Max is an animal, this book comes from a very unique angle and would reach many children in a way that some books might not.

Max’s video titled “Read With Max! Childrens Book “Dogs Work Too!” A Story About Leader Dogs for the Blind” has been selected to compete in the 2011 Peoples Telly Award. This competition is conducted online at the Official Telly Awards YouTube website. Voting starts Monday March 28th and continues for 4 weeks. PLEASE watch the video below and click here to vote!

Max is famous! He’s currently on a book tour, check out the dates for the other blogs on the tour here. I have a key word for you today: FOR. Connect all the key words on the blogs on the tour and be entered in a drawing for a $50 gift card!

One Response to Maxs Pawsitively Exciting Childrens Book Blog Tour!

  1. Max HERE! First, thank you for participating on my book tour. It has been Pawrific. So many great people and blog websites to see. I even wrote down your peach muffin recipe from your post yesterday so I can have my parents make them for me. YUMM!!!!

I am so excited to visit my friends in CANADA! Actually we have some things in common. My Grandfather was born in Canada and I love visiting. I like the great selection of food and dog toys at Sobe’s. OH, did I mention My Mom is French Canadian, Too. Here Maiden name is Reaume.

You may wonder if I visit and yes I do at least twice a year. One of my favorite adventures and places to stay is in Grand Bend at The Pinery Canadian Provincial Park. I love the dog beach and camping, not to mention the great bond fires while eating smores of course without the chocolate.

Speaking of adventures you mentioned my favorite charity and I recently wrote about my visit in my new book.

    Did you know:
Leader Dog has placed over 14000 dogs in 39 different countries. And CANADA is one of them. They also have over 270 students attend from all over the world a 26-day residential training program to be paired with a guide dog in Rochester, Michigan. It truly is a great Organization.

My father has always had eye issues from the time he was born. He understands the challenges of impaired vision and how hard it would be for those challenged to see. That is one of the main reason we love this charity.

I also partnered with the publisher Read How You Want http://www.readhowyouwant.com. They offer book in Braille, Daisy Audio, Large Print Formats, and Ebook for those with Disabilities. Since I write book I had to make them available for those I trying to help.

Now, I am going to visit your other posts. Feel free to comment and leave questions. You may be surprised that I do answer. Thank you again for visiting and check out my other tour spots.

    Hugs and Licks:

    Max!
