A Magical Disney Experience at Home!

One day about a month ago, I gave my four year old son a magical experience! It was a school day for my older daughter and my son was feeling rather out of sorts. When I started to brainstorm ideas about something that we could do together that would be fun and entertaining, I came up with the perfect plan: a visit to the Disney Store! You see many new Disney Stores have opened up across Canada with a whole new design that is aimed to provide each guest with the best 30 minutes of their day. My son and … Continue reading

Rockin’ Ever After with @DisneyonIce in #Toronto March 13-17, 2013

Yesterday, we went to see Rockin’ Ever After, Disney on Ice and boy, did we ever have a blast! I have to say that while I have loved every single Disney on Ice Show that I have been to (and as a Feld Ambassador, I have been fortunate enough to attend a few!), this show is by far my favourite! I loved to see a new princess in the mix, Merida from Brave. The costumes were very impressive as were the props. There seemed to be a lot more detail put into this show and it definitely paid off, in … Continue reading

Fitness Friday: Healthy Eating Tips for a Busy Mom

Moms nowadays are busier than they ever have been in history. In many North American cities mothers who are divorced are left to raise children on their own. Many mothers who are married live far away from parental help and therefore don’t have the support network to look after their children that mothers did 100 years ago. Add that to the fact that many mothers work part-time or full time, take their kids to/from school and activities and basically run a household all day. With all of this going on, eating healthy can be an immense challenge for a mother … Continue reading

Are You As Egg’cited As Me About @KinderCanada’s Easter Treats? #KinderMom

Because Easter falls early this year, it also happens to fall on two family members’ birthdays as well. In our family, we will be doing a whole bunch of celebrating with both sides of the family! We typically decorate eggs leading up to Easter, but something tells me that we might be a bit busy with other celebrations this year! These eggs were decorated by drawing on a hardboiled egg with white crayon and then dipping them in the coloured dyes. We always have a huge Easter Egg Hunt at my inlaw’s house. This is something that the children look … Continue reading

Stained Glass {CRAFT} for Preschoolers and Up

One night after dinner, my amazing hubby got an idea. This idea provided the children with a craft that inspired their creativity and imaginations! They had such fun with their Daddy that night. Hopeful vs. Hopeless: Empowering Young People by Restoring Hope

“It’s hopeless!”This is a statement that Kids Help Phone’s professional counsellors often hear from the 5,000 young people that reach out to us every week. Young people today face many pressures. They are under pressure to succeed in school and the workforce, to compete in sports and other extra-curricular activities, and to meet parental and societal expectations. Often, those pressures can exceed a young person’s ability to cope and, as a result, have a negative effect on their mental health. Why? “For young people, especially teenagers, goals and problems can seem too big, and solutions seem too far out of … Continue reading
