Give Gifts to Sick Kids Hospital

Giving to Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto is something that my family likes to do year round. This past Labour Day, my daughter hosted a Lemonade Stand to raise money to help the children at the hospital. She is five and I was so grateful that she is already starting to learn how important it is to give back. The Holidays is a really excellent time of year to give to the Hospital as it is a very difficult time for the children and their families. Every child deserves to have a smile on their face on Christmas Day. Here … Continue reading

Did you know that smiles are contagious? In my house, they are seriously contagious and one of the many things that I absolutely adore about being home with my kids is that they make me smile just about all day long! They make me smile when they say cute things. They make me smile when they accomplish new things and they make me smile when they hug me. Sometimes I will buy a coffee for the person behind me line at Tim Horton’s or I write little notes in my daughter’s lunch bag. Those are the things that make someone … Continue reading

The Quaker Journey to Wellness

Mom Central has invited me to be a part of the Quaker Journey to Wellness and they asked me the following question: What changes would I like to see my family make in order to live a healthier lifestyle? First and foremost what comes to mind is the fact that my husband and I are role models for our children. I am painfully aware of this fact! So, the first change that I would love to see is that my husband and I make better choices for ourselves when it comes to the lives that we lead (in food and … Continue reading

Long before I was contacting by someone representing Scotch Blue Painter’s Tape, I have been a HUGE fan of this tape! Our kitchen walls are COVERED with my childrens’ artwork! I mean COVERED. One day, I would love to repaint our kitchen with magnetic paint and use magnets to put up their work, but for now, I tape it up and my tape of choice, by far is Scotch Blue Painters tape! Artwork will often stay up for months on end and I have yet (touch wood) to have any paint come off the walls! Nor have we had any … Continue reading
