Kid Decorated Pumpkins

Kids just LOVE to be a part of decorating for Halloween, but some of the Halloween Traditions, like carving a pumpkin aren’t 100% safe for young children. Yes, there are “child safe” knives out there, but pumpkins are very HARD and therefore difficult for young children to cut. Halloween Cobweb Sensory and Fine Motor Activity

Buy one of those cobwebs in a bag at the Dollar Store (gotta love Dollar Stores!) and hide creepy creatures inside of it. Boy, was it ever difficult to find creatures that weren’t choking hazards wee ones! Children love to feel, stretch and pull the cobweb apart a hundred times in search for spiders and creepy crawlies galore. Halloween Fine Motor Activity

Use children’s chopsticks to pick up pumpkin seeds, it was an exciting and fun challenge. It also kept the kids entertained for quite some tiime!This is the 2 year old’s version of a Jack-o-Lantern!And, this is a 5 year old’s version! What a simple activity, but it was so much fun. Did you know that cooked pumpkin seeds can last in a ziplock bag for an entire year! They are so dried out that they don’t go moldy at all.
