This post about having a CLEAN Stainless Dishwasher is brought to you by Finish and The Co.
Are you like me? As soon as you can smell Spring in the air, I get that “itch” or “cleaning bug” to Spring Clean my home, both inside and out. There is nothing more satisfying than knowing that every nook and cranny has been cleaned and organized. There are a few areas that sometimes suffer neglect and I am the first to admit that the inside of my dishwasher is one of those places. However, this is no longer the case for me as I’ve found a FAST way to have a clean stainless dishwasher to leave it looking as new as the day you brought it home.
This spring…
Don’t forget to clean your stainless dishwasher!
It is important to CLEAN the appliance that cleans the dishes and utensils
that we put in our mouth, don’t you think?

While I try my best to use greener cleaning options in my home whenever and wherever possible, I also want to make sure that I am real and honest with you, so I am sharing with you today that I use Finish® Dishwasher Cleaner to make the insides of my stainless dishwasher shine. The water where we live is extremely hard and has a myriad of minerals, including iron and who knows what else that can make cleaning in general a real pain.
When neglected, the stainless and chrome fixtures and sinks get unruly with calcium deposits, the white tile turn brown (ish) from the iron in the water and I don’t even want to share what the inside of our dishwasher could look like. This is why, when we bought our new dishwasher a couple of summers ago, I vowed that I would keep it looking as clean as possible right from the start.

My TOP THREE Recommendations for a Clean Stainless Dishwasher:
- Clean the dishwasher trap. It’s unpleasant, I know. But this is the area that collects all the bits of food and debris that can’t make it down the drain so you need to make sure this is cleaned out beforehand.
- Open the door as soon as the dishwasher is done running. This allows the majority of the water to evaporate through steam and not remain in the dishwasher to stain it over time.
- Use a dishwasher cleaner on a monthly basis to maintain your clean stainless dishwasher. With day to day, regular use, lime scale and grease build up in your dishwasher’s hidden and vital parts including the filters, the spray arms and the pipes. I recommend doing a DEEP CLEAN with Finish® Dishwasher Cleaner With its 5x power actions (maintains your machine, removes lime scale, clears grease, cleans hidden parts of the machine, freshens the dishwasher, this product leaves you with a clean stainless dishwasher.

I use Finish to clean my dishwasher too but only about 4 times a year, which I find is enough since we don’t use it that often in a two person household. 🙂
Yes, two people definitely use less dishes than a larger family.
My parents recently used the dishwasher cleaner…..they were impressed!
