I will never forget when my husband went on his first business trip since having kids. My daughter was about 10 months old and she was well aware of her Dad’s typical daily routine. After nap and towards dinner time, she would start to walk up to our front doors in anticipation of his arrival. Their typical routine would be that she would get Daddy cuddles as soon as he arrived home. At that young age, we couldn’t properly explain why Daddy wasn’t home and the Daddy guilt that my husband was experiencing while he was away was painful to watch.
Before my husband left on his trip, he video taped himself reading my daughter’s favourite story which at the time was Brown Bear, Brown Bear by Eric Carle and Bill Martin Jr. She loved watching this movie of Daddy over and over and over again.
If only the Sparkup Book Reader for kids had been around back then because then his stories would have been portable (as we didn’t have tablets and all of the technology that we do today! The SparkUp Book reader is a product that allows you to record your voice reading a story that will read back the story as your child turns the pages of the book. My hubby could have easily recorded multiple stories for my daughter and it would be just like Daddy reading her story after story, something that they loved to do together.
This book reader for kids is super kid friendly! If a child skips a page, the reader keeps up! And for adults, it is very easy to use and I love that if you are an avid reader and run out of room, you can store books on your computer!
For older children, this Reader allows them to expand upon their creative side! Children can write and illustrate their own book and then bring it to life with their expressive reading voice using the Sparkup Reader, adding sound effects, voice narratives and even music to the background. This multi-media experience is fun, engaging and educational for children.
How does this Book Reader for Kids Work?
The Reader attaches to the top of a book and records the user’s voice while tracking each page via its built-in camera. Afterwards, any time the device is re-attached to that book, the camera recognizes its images and plays the appropriate recording for each page. The Reader can store up to 50 books at a time.
