Many people view January as a fresh start. There are many areas in my life that could use a fresh start. One of those areas is my home. I have been DECLUTTERING my home since the beginning of January and I can’t tell you just how much happier and healthier I feel already!
Another area of my life that could use some attention is my physical health. I have always struggled with my body as I am not a very athletic person and for whatever reason, my will power when it comes to food choices has been terrible ever since I can remember. Every January, I remind myself just how important it is that I make good choices for my body and I try to re-focus on smaller serving sizes and healthier snack choices. This January is no different.
One way that I KNOW I will get healthy goodness into my body is by drinking smoothies. In my smoothies, I always add fruit, some form of liquid and some form of protein (often in powder form, but sometimes I also add some greek yogurt for additional protein).
One of my favourite smoothies is a mixed berry smoothie.
Orange Naturals has a specially formulated Shake for Women that I love to add to my smoothies. By adding this powdered shake to my smoothies, I am not only adding protein, but also greens, vitamins, antioxidants, calcium and more! I love that these shakes are all natural and have nothing artificial in them.
Here is one of my go to smoothie recipes:

- 1 cup almond milk (unsweetened)
- 1 banana
- 1/3 cup plain greek yogurt
- 1 cup frozen mixed berries with dark cherries
- 1/4 cup frozen, chopped kale
- 1 scoop Orange Naturals ND Shake Women
- Pour almond milk into a blender.
- Add all other ingredients.
- Blend until smooth.
- Enjoy!
- Note: All of the ingredients are approximate measurements.

I’ve become a bit of a sweets junkie so eating less sugar is one. The 2nd is declutter, declutter, declutter! There are way too many outgrown toys & clothes in bins in the basement that need to find a new home.
I am trying to cut sugar out of my diet
I love making smoothies for the same reasons you mentioned–one of the things I do is wash the kale (or other dark greens), pat it dry, then store it in a freezer bag. It lasts way longer that way and I just break off ice cold chunks to throw into a smoothie.
Hope you have a great day!
