Muffins are a favourite snack in our house. In fact, they aren’t just a snack, we eat them for breakfast, lunch, snacks and sometimes dinner! I find muffins are very easy to make and they are a tasty, preservative free snack that I feel good about serving to my children.
Whiles peaches are still in season, I thought you might enjoy learning how to make these delicious peach muffins!
The trick to picking sweet peaches is to look for peaches that have been tree ripened. That means if they are green or even light yellow, do not buy them as they will likely be quite sour. When you purchase tree ripened peaches, it is important to use them up within a day or two before they start to ripen too much, as peaches do mold quickly.

- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1/2 cup (rounded) sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/3 cup oil
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 peaches, skinned and diced
- 1 Tbsp lemon juice
- In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar and baking powder.
- In a small bowl, mix together oil, egg, vanilla and milk.
- Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and stir just until moistened.
- Peel and chop peaches and add to lemon juice.
- Gently fold in peaches into muffin batter.
- Fill muffin tin.
- Bake at 400 degrees F for 20 minutes.
NOTE: If you want your muffins to be super peachy, feel free to try adding 3 peaches! Fab Frugal Mama did this on her daughter’s request and they turned out super yummy!
Another tip when you make muffins is to let them cool in the pan before you remove them. If you remove them when they are still slightly warm, they might be slightly moist. As you can see in the image above, I have placed a Bounty paper towel underneath the muffins to absorb some of the moisture.
Have I told you how much I LOVE Pampered Chef Stoneware? I don’t even have to grease my muffin pan. I simply bake the muffins in the pan (without papers), let them cool for approximately 10 to 15 minutes in the pan and then pop them out using a butter knife. They come out easily with little mess and the pans wash up really well.
These sound awesome! Gonna be doing some canning soon! May just make some muffins too!
I have never canned anything other than freezer jam – this is something that I would love to try out!
LOVE peaches! I wish they weren’t so finicky! Thanks for this recipe 🙂
Finicky? You mean to prepare them?
Haha now you know how lazy I am! And so often I miss that perfect ripeness stage too! But it’s worth any effort for peaches 🙂
LOL I’m very lazy too BUT with peaches, even if they are over ripe, it is ok. My trick is they are perfect if when you gently push on them, there is a bit of give. If they are rock solid, they will be too sour and won’t cook properly.
I adore peach pie, so why have I never thought of peach muffins?
Mmmm peach pie! LOVe it!
Never made peach muffin before but I am going to make them this weekend, thanks for the recipe!

Peaches are my favourite fruit. I am going to be lazy and use frozen peaches already peeled though. Definitely will be making these this week.
next year I’ll be trying these out, that is IF I can find some nice sweet peaches – tree ripened, that isn’t easy around here.
Where are you again? I actually bought some AMAZING peaches last week!
I’m in Alberta, BC is the place to be for marvellous peaches.
These peach muffins look delicious and my mouth is watering just thinking about them. I hope the recipe will work with canned peaches because I don’t think I can wait until the summer to make these.
Please do let me know if you try it out with canned peaches. I don’t see why it wouldn’t, just drain them well!
Once you try these you you will want them again and again.

These look so mouth watering as peaches are my favorite, pinned and printed, thanks for sharing! (Doris Calvert)
I’m not sure where I went wrong, but I had to almost triple the baking time. There were still delicious in the end though!
Oh also! I just wanted to let you know that in the instructions the cinnamon is not listed when mixing the dry ingredients.
