How many times in a day does
CLEAN WATER touch your family’s life?
Did you know that approximately one billion people in the developing world* do not have the same luxury, and diseases from contaminated water are killing more children every day than HIV/AIDS and malaria combined*.

Walmart and P&G have put together a Clean Water Campaign to help provide clean drinking water to children in the developing world through a water purifying technology developed by P&G. One small purification packet quickly turns 10 litres of dirty, potentially deadly water into clean, drinkable water!
For every participating P&G product purchased at Walmart from May 1, 2014 to March 31, 2015, P&G will donate a day of clean drinking water to someone in need. To help bring the program even closer to its goal of donating 25 million litres of water in a 12 month-period, P&G and Walmart will once again open the program up to include every P&G product from July 16 – 31, 2014.
Think about how often you use clean water in your day. Do you think about how fortunate you are to have clean water every time you use it? I think about it often, but definitely not every time I use water. I would like to be reminded about just how lucky us Canadians are to live in a country where clean water is not an issue.
I encourage you to enter a #CleanWater Photo Challenge with me from July 18 through to July 31, 2014. P&G and Walmart want you to share photos of the role clean water plays in your life and the life of our family and friends.
Follow this calendar and post your photos onto your favourite social media platform and don’t forget to use the #CleanWater hashtag:
To date, more than seven billion litres of clean drinking water have been provided by humanitarian organizations across the globe using P&G packets, helping to save an estimated 39,000 lives in more than 75 countries.
This past spring, P&G donated 8.6 million days of clean water to the Children’s Safe Drinking Water Fund as part of its Clean Water initiative. Since May 1, more than 20 P&G products, including Tide, Pampers, Duracell, Dawn and Pantene have continued to generate a donation equivalent to one day of clean drinking water**.
**For every P&G product purchased at Walmart from April 1 – 30, 2014, P&G donated US$ 0.02 to the Children’s Safe Drinking Water Fund. For each purchase of a selection of P&G products from May 1, 2014 – July 17, 2014, P&G will donate US$ 0.02 to the Children’s Safe Drinking Water Fund.

I am a P&Gmom. As part of my affiliation with this group, I have been offered compensation to participate in the #cleanwater photo challenge. The views, opinions and photographs expressed on this blog and in my social networks are my own.
I attended a twitter party about this not long ago. I don’t think any of us really realize just how much water we use in a day, how much goes down the drain, and the families all over that don’t have access to it ..I love that P&G has taken on this initiative!
I really don’t think we do either! While I try my best to be conscious about my water use, I know that I take it for granted too. I have really started to try to think about it every.single.time the tap turns on! It makes you use less!
That’s great that P&G and Walmart are doing this!
this is wonderful
This is such an important issue. I am glad this attention is being drawn to it.
Thank you! Agreed!
This is a great program that they are doing!! and we do take water for granted, if we tried to go one day without water I bet there is no way we could do it
This is so true Lynda! It would be a very big challenge – perhaps we should try that as a family for just one day – I bet it would open up all of our eyes just how much we use it and rely on it!
This is an awesome story! I have often wondered why we take water for granted, as without it we would surely die Thank You.
So very true. I think with everything in life – if it is readily available to us with little or no effort, it is very easy to take it for granted without even realizing it!
Clean water is so important wherever you live. I love the program and I use water only when needed, example, shutting off shower while shampooing my hair.
We do that type of showering when we are at the cottage, but I’m thinking that we really should do it here too. I will say that I have mastered the 3 minute shower and I’m quite proud of it!
In Canada we are blessed with an abundance of water, so often we take for granted our “endless” supply and don’t think twice about leaving the hose watering the grass for several hours
We need water to live,it should not be taken for granted or wasted
This is an awesome story!
