LEGO is a great rainy day activity! In the summer months, there are also quite a few hot days where children are looking for something to keep them occupied.
In the past year, my 7 year old daughter has grown to absolutely LOVE Lego! This is why I was super excited when I was asked to review the SpongeBob Bikini Bottom Undersea Party Lego Playset! It couldn’t have arrived at a better time. This set includes 471 pieces and is recommended for children aged 6-11 years of age and I fully agree with that. My 7 year old was able to follow the step by step directions that came with the playset, requiring some but not a lot of assistance.

My 3.5 year old loves the idea of Lego, but his attention span just isn’t there yet. We built some of the characters at the beginning and he enjoyed playing with them as we made progress on the bigger set.
I just love all of the small details included in this set. To be honest, we haven’t watched SpongeBob around our house yet, but I’m sure it’s only a matter of time. Regardless, both of my children have heard of him and they were very excited to build and play with this Lego set.
We built this set in a few different sessions as my daughter’s patience and attention span needed a break. Lego sets like this one are the perfect quiet time activity and keep children engaged for long periods at a time. Once it is built, sets like this one also provide children with hours of hands on, creative fun.
