Handbook to Practical Disaster Preparedness for the Family {REVIEW}

This book is available through Amazon via CreateSpace.

About the Handbook:
This 450-page “Handbook” is a guide for families everywhere, and is filled with lots of useful details that everyone can use, from evacuating their home and their general area during a disaster, to purifying water, storing food and protecting themselves and their property.

It was very important to Dr. Bradley, the author of the book that he was helping families pull together a plan that works for them, including special needs for people with disabilities and the elderly as well as providing details on how to create an effective network (ie, teaming up with neighbors and friends to help one another survive the disaster). He also provides websites for useful information and exercises families can practice to help them prepare for the unexpected emergency.

Multi-Testing Mommy’s Take:
First and foremost, it is important to note that this book covers all 14 Basic Needs including: Food, Water, Shelter, Light, Electrical Power, Heating/Cooling, Air, Sleep, Hygiene/Sanitation, Medical/First Aid, Communication, Financial Preparedness, Transportation and Protection.

Although we don’t like to think of Disasters and Emergencies, it is important to be prepared and to have a plan! This book truly walks you through everything you need to know to be prepared. After reading this book, I truly feel like my family can be prepared for any emergency. I will keep this book on hand because we all know that when we are in an emergency situation, our memories may not be working at full tilt!

This handbook walks you through everything you need to know in great detail. I am so glad to have read this book.

    October 9-I am so impressed by your review that I am going to try to buy this book for our use at home here. I am really impressed that it covers all the topics necessary to our safety, health and comfort in an emergency. Most of us never expect to have an emergency but to be prepare is only common sense. It is like taking a CPR course, hoping you’ll never use it but you will be prepared if you have to! Thank you for recommending this book.-el03ro
