Tinker Bell Flies Onto DISNEY JUNIOR This November

DISNEY FAIRIES MONTH

Toronto, October 26, 2011 – Throughout the month of November, Tinker Bell and her best fairy friends pay a special visit to Disney Junior as the network presents Disney Fairies Month. With a ‘fairy’ special programming lineup including two movie premieres, Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue and Pixie Hollow Games, Disney Junior also unveils new fairy-themed shorts every Friday beginning at 6:25 p.m. ET.

Tinker Bell begins the month-long fairy festivities on November 4. In the feature-length special, a young Tinker Bell spends her early days meeting enchanting creatures and discovering the magical world of fairies. On November 11 in Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure, Tinker Bell enlists the help of her friends to save the most powerful source of magic in Pixie Hollow.

The Canadian premiere of Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue debuts on Disney Junior on November 18 at 6:30 p.m. ET. During a summer stay in England, Tinker Bell is accidentally discovered and captured by a curious little girl in need of a friend. As the other fairies launch a daring rescue in the middle of a fierce storm, Tinker Bell develops a special bond with the young girl.

During the following week, viewers can see the highly-anticipated half-hour special Pixie Hollow Games, premiering on November 25 at 6:30 p.m. ET. The newest fairy-filled adventure follows spirited newcomer Chloe (voiced by Brenda Song, The Suite Life on Deck) as she, along with Tinker Bell, the fairies and the sparrow men of Pixie Hollow, gather for the legendary Pixie Hollow Games, a tournament-style sporting event where Chloe is determined to inspire her trailing team to believe in themselves and bring home the championship. Multi-talented actress and singer, Zendaya (Shake It Up), who voices Fern in the Pixie Hollow Games, performs the animated special’s theme song “Dig Down Deeper.”

Immediately following the Pixie Hollow Games will be a sneak peek of Minnie’s Bow-Toons, the new short-form series that follows Minnie Mouse and her good friend Daisy Duck running Minnie’s Bow-Tique, a specialty shop that stocks only bows and bow-ties.

Premiering before each of the films are new fairy-themed featuring a behind-the-scenes look at how Tinker Bell and her friends prepare to compete in the legendary Pixie Hollow Games tournament. Each short special builds up towards the premiere of the newest installment in the Disney Fairies franchise on November 25.
