New Tim Hortons Breakfast Items

I have to admit that although I do love my occasional “fancy coffee”, I’m a true Canadian when it comes to coffee. I love my Timmies! I’ve received Tim Horton’s gift cards in the past and plowed through them like water–I do love my coffee! I recently received a gift card to try out a few of Tim Horton’s new breakfast items! I was pretty excited, I won’t lie. I tried out the new Breakfast wraps first. They are made with fresh whole wheat tortillas. My favourite part was the “savoury sauce”, it was what set this wrap aside from … Continue reading

Book Review: My Name is Not Isabella by Jennifer Fosberry

The darling main character in this children’s story, Isabella, uses her tremendous imagination pretending to be some of the most famous women in America’s history including Sally Ride, Annie Oakley, Rosa Parks, Marie Curie, Elizabeth Blackwell (my daughter’s favourite) and the sixth role model – Mommy! Isabella’s Mommy is they type of Mommy that most of us Mom’s strive to be, engaging and encouraging. Throughout the story, she becomes a part of Isabella’s creative imaginative scenes and goes with the flow, encouraging her to become who she wants to be. I found this part of the book quite moving and … Continue reading

BOOK REVIEWS: Bedtime Stories for Children

Reading stories to our kids before bed is definitely part of our night time routine for us. This is more part of my 5 year old’s routine than our 2 year old’s although we try our best to get him involved with at least looking at a book before bed as well. I am always excited to be introduced to new childrens’ books. I’m like a kid in a candy shop when I go into a book store, seriously! I get all giddy inside and I have to seriously use will power to not buy a book every time I … Continue reading

Bounty Monster Mess

With Halloween looming just around the corner, all of us parents know that there are many messes coming our way whether it be the pumpkin carving, the crafts, the baking or even the Halloween makeup! We are always in need of help with tidying up and although I’m a big believer in good old cloths and water, sometimes some one time use items are a HUGE help and a necessity!!!Bounty paper towels are the only paper towels that we use in our house–this is the honest truth. We buy them in bulk at Costco. We have tried other brands before, … Continue reading

BOOK REVIEW: Baby Baby Baby! by Marilyn Janovitz

I just recently had the opportunity to review a fabulous board book called “Baby Baby Baby! by Marilyn Janovitz. This book has wonderfully flowing and rhyming text. We read the book over a few times in a row when we first received it because it had such flow to it and by the end, both of my kids (2 and 5) were chiming in excitedly! The illustrations are very sweet and adorable, including various members of the family. I like this because the book is about people that baby should recognize in their family. The book helps with bedtime routine … Continue reading

REVIEW: Clorox Greenworks Dishsoap and Glass and Surface Cleaner

I was sent a bottle of Clorox Greenworks Dishwashing Liquid and a bottle of Glass and Surface Cleaner to try out. Here is what I found: I enjoyed using this dishwashing liquid because of its natural qualities, however, compared to other brands (the not so natural kind, unfortunately), I did find that I had to use much more in order to cut the grease. However, in the end, this naturally derived dishwashing liquid definitely does the job, you just have to use more of it to get the job done. The Glass and Surface cleaner is deemed safe for glass … Continue reading

(closed) REVIEW and GIVEAWAY: Clorox Green Works

Note: This giveaway is now closed. A winner has been notified. I received a couple of Clorox Green Works products to try out and was rather happy with the outcome! In the past few years, I’ve been struggling with what kind of cleaning products to use. A few years ago, I was all for the pure poison, disinfectant type. Then, I made a swing in the completely opposite direction and began using vinegar, essential oils, water and baking soda (in separate combinations). I wasn’t satisfied with not knowing just how “clean” (meaning the germ side of things, not how things … Continue reading
