Movie: The Secret World of Arrietty {REVIEW}

On February 17th, the Disney movie The Secret World of Arrietty came to theatres. I found this movie to be a very fun movie to watch. I found myself escaping reality and using my imagination run with the movie. Children thrive on movies and books that allow them to use their imagination and this movie is definitely no exception.The Secret World of Arrietty is about friendship, illness, braveness and adventure. I believe it is best suited for a young child aged 6-7+. If your child is particularly sensitive, this might not be the movie for them, but for the average … Continue reading

Wow! Wow! Wubbzy – Wubbzy and the Fire Engine

My son is currently obsessed with fire trucks, fire fighters and all of the equipment that goes along with them. This is just one of the reasons why, Wubbzy and the Fire Engine on DVD is such a great show for him! He is at the perfect age and has the specific interest in learning about that topic!One of the things that I love about Wow! Wow! Wubbzy episodes is how they incorporate various social skills into each one. Social skills are extremely important for preschoolers to learn as they prepare themselves for formal school experiences. Included in Wubbzy and … Continue reading

REVIEW: Winnie The Pooh comes to Theatres Friday July 15th, 2011

Inspired by five stories from A.A. Milne’s books in Disney’s classic, hand-drawn art style, Winnie The Pooh hits the theatres this Friday July 15th, 2011! My family had the privilege of seeing an advanced screening of this movie this past weekend in Toronto at the AMC Theatres at Yonge and Dundas Square (VERY nice and SUPER clean theatres, I might add). It was my son’s very first movie in a theatre (he is 2.5 years old) and my daughter’s 3rd movie. We weren’t too sure how my son would react to the theatre in general – would it be too … Continue reading
