What will you be doing from 8:30-9:30pm Saturday night (March 24th, 2018)? Did you know that it is officially Earth Hour?
It’s time to celebrate our beautiful planet!
This year, I’m excited to be adding a couple of tools to our home that will help us dim the lights for Earth Hour: an Amazon Echo Plus and a wireless controllable Philips Hue Light Bulb.
I know what you might be thinking…why would you need a wireless controllable light bulb? What if you’re giving your little one a bath and you forgot to turn off the light in another room? All you would have to do is call out “Alexa, turn off the light” (or something to that effect) for it to work without compromising the safety of your child. How cool is that? OR what if you’re away and you want to control the lights inside your home at night?
These are just a couple of neat ways that the Amazon Echo Plus can be helpful. I will be writing another post shortly on my experience with using it in my home to make life just a little bit easier.
And tomorrow night at 8:30pm, my family will be dimming the lights to celebrate Earth Hour, although if you saw my Facebook Post yesterday, you would likely know that I have no issue turning out the lights and simply going to bed early!
Will you be celebrating Earth Hour this year?

As always, full disclosure is extremely important to me. I am an Amazon Affiliate. Amazon is a convenient way to do your online shopping from the convenience of your own home. If FREE SHIPPING is important to you, be sure to check out Amazon Prime as an opportunity.
Hubby and I will definitely be taking part in this. thankfully it;s around the time we put our girls to bed so lights out and we are in their rooms as they fall sleep which makes it a bit easier either way we participate in it every year
Love it! Participate how it works for your family – always adapt!
I’ll be on my patio enjoying a cup of coffee and reading a book by flashlight (hope that’s okay).
Enjoy it sounds nice but it’s far too cold here yet!
Here too really but a winter jacket & boots, a tuque, gloves and a quilt keep me warm enough.
Love it! You’re a trooper. Would you ever do camping in the winter?
Not sure where you live, but it’s a wee bit cold here for that, I feel! Hope you had a great night.
Near Edmonton and yes it’s cold but with a winter jacket, tuque, gloves, a cushion and a quilt it works in any temperature. đŸ™‚
I will be sipping wine and enjoying conversation with my hubby in the dark!
Love it! Hope you had a lovely evening.
