Overnight Oats and Blueberries in a Jar

Mornings are always a huge rush around our house AND everyone seems to want something different for breakfast. Because of this, I’ve learned how to pre-make breakfast, enough to cover us for a few days at a time. Along with smoothies, one breakfast meal that I prepare is “Mommy’s special eggs” (perhaps I’ll share that recipe another time) and lately my daughter and I have been enjoying Overnight Oats and Blueberries in a Jar with NO ADDED SUGAR!

My favourite ingredient (aside from the blueberries, of course) in these overnight oats are the chia seeds. My favourite chia seeds to use are the ProactivChia made by PRANA. They are vegan, organic and gluten-free that is a healthy addition to baking, cereals, yogurt, smoothies and more.

These mason jar oatmeal breakfasts are so simple to make, my daughter can even make her own for the week! Check it out:

These delicious Overnight Oats have added goodness and heath factor from blueberries and chia seeds.
Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup oats
  • 1/4 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • 1/3 cup yogurt
  • 1/2 cup milk (regular, almond, cashew, whatever you prefer to use)
Instructions
  1. Pour all ingredients into a mason jar.
  2. Put on lid and shake.
  3. Refrigerate overnight or up to a few days.
  4. Enjoy!

It’s funny because I’m a big rule follower AND when it comes to recipes, I typically FOLLOW THE “RULES”, but for this one, I’ve stepped outside of my comfort zone and taken a note from my chef hubby. I gave you measurements, but the honest truth is – you can make this just as effectively by adding a little bit of this and a little bit of that. Make it different every single time!

There you have it, folks! One of the easiest, yet super healthy breakfasts ever! AND feel free to customize it to your preferences too. Need it a bit sweeter? Add a bit of pure maple syrup or honey. Love vanilla? Add a dash. Prefer raspberries over blueberries, switch them up for some variety! And for those of you who enjoy an added CRUNCH to their oats, you can top this delicious breakfast off with some PRANA dry roasted coconut chips!

What would you add to your Overnight Oats?

These seem to be so popular right now, but I tried once to make these and I don’t know what I did, but they didn’t taste good at all and I like oatmeal!
