Yes! You read that right – but I bet you are asking yourself “what downtime”? Well, if you are like me, you struggle to find downtime, but I have found a way to sneak it into my busy life!
So, picture this…….one day after school, the kids come home, have their typical snack and then everyone gets ready for their various activities. My son does Karate and my daughter is in musical theatre. We scheduled them so that I wasn’t going to be criss-crossing town on the same day for both children, BUT every once in a while things work out that way.
Last week, my son was sick on his regular Karate day, so he was going to take a makeup class on the same day that my daughter has her musical theatre classes. So, off we went on a cross-town adventure, dropping off, driving, dropping off, driving, picking up, driving, picking up driving with a small bit of downtime in between.
During that downtime, I was sitting in the car with nothing to do other than work (which I do enjoy), when it occurred to me that it would be a perfect time to take a few minutes and use Next Issue to catch up on some magazine reading.
I LOVE to read magazines, but unfortunately I don’t often find the time, so they would pile up and create clutter in my home and I felt guilty for recycling paper that I hadn’t even touched. By subscribing to Next Issue, you have unlimited access to HUNDREDS of magazines, all in the app at your fingertips. All you need is a device to read them on and you are set.
As a Mom, you are likely finding yourself multi-tasking often, right? Escape reality just a few moments at a time and enjoy a few pages of a magazine using Next Issue.

This post was generously sponsored by Next Issue. All opinions are my own and have not been influenced in any way.
Although I do love my paper magazines, particularly ones with recipes that I tear out, I am intrigued by the prospect of having my magazines available online for portability. I must try this.
I think this is a wonderful idea for Moms who are also acting as chauffers for their children several days a week.
I think it is a great way to catch up on your magazines and learn new crafts, recipes.
Thank you for telling us about it.
This is great. Next Issue sounds like something I’d enjoy.
This is an amazing app. just wished my eyes were better to read off of a tablet!!
I did like this app but I have an old iPad and found it used up most of the space and I had to delete the app so I could do an update!
Downtime is so so important, what a great way to get lost in another world on the go!
I don’t remember the last time I had “downtime”… LOL! Next Issue is definitely something I could use (especially when I travel); I like to normally read informational/news magazines like MacLeans, Time, National Geographic, etc.
I love next issue! Enviromentally friendly, aimple, cheap, and a variety of magazines to pass time!
I’m not a magazine reader, I much prefer to have a book in my hands 🙂
I consider my 30 min break at work when I jump on the elliptical and read my book of the month my “down time” …. does that count? lol
