Look out for harmful things like Phthalates because they are not always disclosed on a label, so watch for “fragrances,” which usually contain more than just a pleasant scent.
- Check where the product is made: Different countries have different laws about ingredient disclosure. Buy products that are Made in Canada as much as possible.
- Know where to use them: You don’t want to use your bathroom cleaner on your new wood coffee table, and you should never use a lemon-based cleaner on a marble countertop.

Method cucumber all-purpose surface cleaner is my favorite cleaning product ever!! We use a lot of Method products. I highly recommend!

I haven’t tried the Method products yet, but I have tried a few of the Nature Clean products and I must say I was impressed, gets the work done!!

I try to keep clutter and dirt under control each week, but there is nothing like a big spring clean!
I live alone, but will use your tips for the little spring cleaning I do
I use a few different ‘green’ cleaners. I use President’s Choice Multi-Purpose Cleaning Putty and Clorox’s greenworks multipurpose cleaner. Honestly though, I mostly just scrub with super hot water for a lot of my cleaning!
I’ve heard of some of these products, but others are new to me. Thanks for pointing them out. One of my favourite cleaners is baking soda with a little water – it makes a good scrub for pots and pans or for getting marks off the wall.
Make a list and check things accomplished as you go, that keeps me on track
I start out by writing out a list (no matter how long) of each room in the house and then in each category write down specifically what needs to be done or changes that need to be had…………. 🙂
