As noted in one of my earlier posts reviewing the Zipadee-zip, my little one loves being confined into a swaddle of any sort while sleeping. The only problem now is that she has almost outgrown both of her Zipadee-zips! She soon will be 10 months old (where has the time flown?) and at her recent check up measured a whopping 74.6 cm! She’s going to be a tall girl just like her momma. While I LOVE the Zipadee-zip with a passion as they are seriously magical, I thought it was only fair to test out a Canadian product when ready to transition her out of her ‘Zippy’.
While visiting Mini Mioche, I was introduced to the all- Canadian company called Sweet Dreams and Flying Machines. Not only does it have a cool name, but it also makes beautiful swaddle and dream sacs! The swaddles are really neat in that they are essentially a really snug sleep sac with snaps to close the arm holes! This is a really cool concept as one could easily transition from swaddle to sleep sac using the same product! While my little one is way too big for the swaddle, I am quite confident that she would have loved being in one, sleeping soundly during the early weeks. It sure would have been a lot easier than artfully wrapping her in Nana’s homemade big swaddling blankets – sort of like baby origami.
It took lots of practice, but now our little one is happily sleeping in her new Sweet Dreams and Flying Machines Dream sac! The light-weight one is perfect for these hot and humid early days of summer. The outer material is the same as is used for Lululemon clothing, while the inner material is made of super soft, organic cotton or micro-fleece – both which wick away sweat and keep our little bug cool. There is plenty of room for our little one to grow in this sac, so it’s economical in that she will be able to use it for a few years which is so great!
Some other features of the Dream Sacs include:
- Two rows of snaps for the perfect fit
- Underarm snaps to shorten the armholes (to avoid bunching around the face)
- Ability to unzip and lay flat or unzip halfway for easy diaper changes
- Easily works with a five-point harness
- UV protection no mater how many times it is washed or exposed to sunlight!
- Snaps up so child can walk/crawl around to play with legs free before bed!
It also washes very nicely (however it does suggest to hang dry which takes a while due to the amount of material).
Overall, I am VERY impressed with this Vancouver-based company and highly recommend their top-quality products! Be sure to check them out for your own little on or maybe as a great gift for someone else!

These are great! I used sleep sacks with all four of my children and loved them!
These are super cute and such a great idea! I’m putting them on my baby gift list!
So cute, may have to check these out for an upcoming baby shower
I’m a huge fan of sleep sacks….they’ve given me a lot of peace of mind during the nights here (and of course kept my baby warm). Now I just need to find a BIG one for my girl. Love the look of the ones offered by Sweet Dreams Flying Machines, they even make one in black. Now that is awesome!!!
I love sleep sacks, I used them for my children over 30 yrs ago! They ensure that the child never becomes uncovered and so keep them warm through the night.
