Wordless Wednesday: Children, We CARE! {Linky}

Last week, my dear friend over at Life on Manitoulin shared a video that was so inspiring, emotional and up lifting all at the same time.

It is a video, but there are no words other than in the music, so it counts for Wordless Wednesday, doesn’t it?!

It reminds us why teachers become teachers in the first place, but it also reminds me why I became a parent too.

I became a teacher, years ago, because I love children. I care about children and I wanted to make a difference. That is why most teachers become teachers. We need to remember that!

I became a parent almost 8 years ago now because I love children and I wanted to have the opportunity to raise my own. I want to be there for them, to love them, to have fun with them, to guide them and to support them.

This video is a reminder that when our young children are having meltdowns about something or our older children are devastated about something, we need to be there for them. We need to remember that we were once there too! Even though as an adult, many of the things that children go through seem minuscule, they aren’t small to them. In that moment, how they are feeling and what they are going through is everything!

    I had a few wonderful teachers over the years…they truly had an impact on my life

  3. It really is a touching video, I think teens especially aren’t aware that teachers feel that way

    That is a great video. So many fab teachers out there.

    Sadly in Ontario right now, you can only talk to a teacher during class hours. Many kids do not want to discuss problems during that time. Hopefully teachers will come to a resolution and open their doors and hearts again after class to the kids who need it.

  7. such a great video! I’m lucky enough to say that the school in our small hometown has teachers very much like this one. There are few greater motivations to do well at school than having a compassionate and dedicated teacher.

    Such a great video! I had great experiences with my teachers all throughout my school years and I hope my kids will as well 🙂

    I totally agree with everything said here. There are amazing and powerful teachers here in Ontario but it is so sad sometimes when labour and unions take the place of child centred care and education. Right now I feel very strongly that there are maybe ten people in the whole education system doing things with children’s best interests at heart. That sickens me. That is a powerful video and there are people who work their damned hardest in every field. But where children are concerned there is no excuse for not giving every last drop of energy and care you have got. Adults should never fail kids.

    Thanks for sharing this video. I shared this with some of my friends.

    I think its also sad when the government takes the place of child centred care and education. I think there has been a failure on that side of the table as well, that affects our kids right now, and will affect our kids in the future when they enter the workforce.
