This Mommy is in Need of THE Perfect Medicine Tracking #App for #Parents

Thanks my friend, Craig for trying to help me figure out a solution to my need for the perfect app for my iPhone that helps me track medicine doses for my sick kids! We weren’t successful, but I haven’t given up the hunt! I appreciate you taking the time out of your busy day to help out a Mom in need. This world is in need of thoughtful and giving people like Craig!

I want an app that does many things – does it exist? I don’t know! Maybe you can help me.

The ideal medicine reminder app would:
1) Track more than one family member at a time.
2) Track more than one medicine at a time.
3) Give me the ability to enter in a drug, how many hours apart it can be taken, maximum daily dosage.
4) Give me the ability to see what time the next does can be given.
5) Give me the ability to change the schedule by entering a time switch at the next dose (e.g. if it can be taken every 6 hours, but I wait 7 hours, be able to switch future dosing times easily).
6) Provide me with the option of push notifications when child is due for a dose.

Is there anything else that I am missing when listing the “must haves” for the perfect medicine tracking app?

Do you think it exists?

Do you use an app to track medicine doses? Which one would you recommend?

  1. Mama Ash says:

I personally don’t but have used the Telus Emergency app.

  2. Not sure if there is an app to do this, but that would be helpful for sure. With my twins I just give the same dose at the same time then set a reminder in my phone’s calendar.

  3. Brandi Yee says:

I haven’t heard of an app as of yet, but you’re definitely onto something! There should be one…would come in so handy!

  4. Sny Med says:

Have you thought of creating your own app? This would be a very easy app to design, as it only requires basic information.

Never tried it, but fyi: http://www.apps-builder.com/en/home

It would be awesome to have an ap with all of those features. I had two kids sick for a week straight and had to continuously be writing down medicine dose times. An ap would have been ideal.

  7. I have a whiteboard on my fridge housing several predetermined schedules with a lot of checkmarks;) I was JUST thinking about an app for it today! Have you thought about just making an interactive spreadsheet in Numbers? It might take some time to build (or, you might find a premade template or you could reach out to your fans to gain some insight on making the most efficient spreadsheet with formulas etc). Just an idea. I might be going this route. I’ve wanted to get into app building, but it is quite extensive. There’s a reason apps cost what they do. Most people hire teams that 6 months + to build some of our most beloved apps.

  8. That does sound helpful! It would actually surprise me if nothing like this exists out there given the multitude of apps available, but if not like Jenna pointed out, a great opportunity to build out!
