“One Child Dies Every Three Weeks from a TV Tipping Over”
According to SafeKids.org
I knew that this type of accident happens, but I didn’t realize that it was that much. When we finally made the jump to the latest television technology a year or so ago, I insisted that the tv had to be safe for little ones. Whether we mounted it to the wall, tethered it to a table or secured it to a mounting tv stand, it didn’t matter to me. I just wanted to ensure that our children and our friends’ kids would be safe.
I was discouraged at the lack of options to tether down a TV safely and easily and because of the layout of our room, we decided that hanging it on the wall or from the ceiling wasn’t an option.
We ended up buying a special tv stand that you can mount your tv onto. It serves the purpose even though it wasn’t exactly what I was looking for.
And flat screen televisions aren’t the only danger to young children, as you will see in the video below.
Please make sure that you put measures in place to prevent an accident from your TV tipping over! Keep your little ones safe.
What do you put your tv on? Have you taken safety measures?
Warning- you SHOULD watch this video, but it might make your stomach turn!

I had no idea this was so common. I remember tethering my son’s dresser to the wall so it wouldn’t tip over but I didn’t think of the tv.
