For seven years now, I have been rushing to get ready for the day. My first born was a very needy baby so I took showers and got ready for the day as fast as I possibly could. There were some days it was so crazy that I actually waited for my husband to come home from work to get ready.
I have naturally curly hair (it was wavy before having children, now it’s CURLY!) and on days when I don’t have the time to use a blow dryer with an infuser, I have some simple tricks that I’d like to share:
- Don’t use too much shampoo.
- Let the conditioner sit in your hair for a minute before rinsing out and rinse it just until the conditioner is gone, your hair may still feel slightly “slimy” – that is ok.
- Hang your head upside down and towel “scrunch” your hair dry until your hair is no longer dripping.
- If you are using multiple products (ghd has a variety of hair products to check out!), work each one in individually.
- I like to use a curling product along with a gel.
- Hang your head upside down and use hair spray.
Throughout the day, if you hair needs a “pick me up”, simply hang your head upside down, wet your hands with water and scrunch your curls again! Voila – instant hair style!
That is all! From the time I step out of the shower to the time that my hair is ready, only 3-5 minutes has passed by! Easy Peasy!

I keep telling my daughter to do this.. but for some reason she likes to brush out her curls every day. 🙁
I do this ocassionally, my hair never goes curly but–wavy! Easy to do! Thanks for sharing, I’ll have to try the conditioner tip! Maybe that will help!
Very simple for anyone with curly hair. Thanks for sharing. Will pass this along to my daughter.
Great tips. Only wish I had the lovely curls that you do.
My hair has a natural wave since moving to Toronto(must be the water and humidity)
So post partum my hair went super straight. My son sucked everything out of me I guess, LOL!
2 1/2 years later only now is my hair coming back to the natural wave it had!
You have curly hair? I never wouldn’t have pictured you that way, would love to see what you look like! Great tips.
Thanks for the tips Mama! I have curly hair as well, but as I say, it’s not good curly..haha.. I usually blow dry it straight but will try your tips for lazy summer days when I leave it wet 🙂
Thanks for the tips. I struggle with my hair so much.
As a man, I’ve always wanted curly hair. I’m going to try this out and see if all my dreams will finally come true!!
Thanks for sharing!! 😉
the upside down scrunch really does work!
I wish I had curly hair!! My poker straight hair does nothing!
Cut it short lmao. That’s my tip, short and funky, easy to style and away you go!
My daughters are all bi racial and have a range of curly hair. The less we touched it with a brush the better. They never rinsed out conditioner, ever ever lol We also would put conditioner onto their dry hair.

Great tips! I have curly hair but it is kind of weird as it is straight in the front and curly in the back. I will definitely try your tips! 🙂
