Book Review: How Do You Feed a Hungry Giant? by Caitlin Friedman

How Do You Feed a Hungry Giant?

What better day than Family Literacy Day than to feature a super cute children’s book that you can read with your family.

How Do You Feed a Hungry Giant? A Munch-and-Sip Pop up Book by Caitlin Friedman is an adorable, well constructed pop up book for children.

This book is about a young boy named Oscar who finds himself with a challenge: How do you feed a hungry giant? Oscar opens his door one day to find a VERY HUNGRY giant in his yard. Oscar uses his creativity in attempt to feed this giant, but he ends up emptying the entire fridge.

The interactive fun in this book including pull tabs and pop ups add that extra amount of excitement for a young child.

Both of my children enjoyed reading this book with me. We enjoy reading stories together every day and this one was especially fun.

I liked the message in this book about helping others in need. Both Oscar and his mother are very giving characters in this lovely story.

This video provides you with the feel of this adorable book:

Included in this book is a pull out with eight recipes including Broccolini Trees with Cheese, a Pasta Mountain, a Pizza-Size Chocolate Chip Cookie and more! This allows a child the opportunity to make connections to the story which is a very important aspect of learning how to read.
