Bumbo Seat Warning

Health Canada has issued a reminder about the safe use of Bumbo Seats.

On their website, Health Canada states, “The back of the seat contains the following “WARNING” – “Never use on a raised surface. Never use as a car seat or bath seat. Designed for floor level use only. Never leave your baby unattended as the seat is not designed to be totally restrictive and may not prevent release of your baby in the event of vigorous movement.”

We all what is what is best for our children and we all want to keep them safe, however sometimes accidents do happen. Apparently since 2007 there have been a few reports of babies falling out of their Bumbo Seats, particularly from high surfaces such as tables and counter tops.

I know the one thing that I have learned since becoming a parent is to never assume anything when it comes to my children.

When our babies are a certain age, we tend to get used to what they are and aren’t capable of, but it only takes that one time for them to discover something new when you aren’t looking.

I just wanted to share this Health Canada warning with you as a very gentle reminder to never assume.

My boys use to be able to pop out. My older 2 never stayed in their bumbo, and the baby loved it and liked to sit in it all the time! LOL Yes I see pics of babies in them all the time up places and that worries me.
