I threw a Bridal Shower for my sister this weekend and it was a great success! We will also be eating party food for the whole week in my house. When will I ever learn how to make the proper amount of food for a party?
The colours I chose for the shower were bright yellow, pink and white. My Mom made these amazing tissue paper flowers. They are SO easy to make and SO beautiful!
I bought this AMAZING water dispenser at Costco. It made drinking water so much fun! The ladies all commented how this dispenser along with the fact that I put name labels on their cups encouraged them to drink more water. We drank lemon and lime infused water, pink wine and sparkling raspberry lemonade.
For added fun decorations, I put fake diamonds on the buffet table with some other fun gems that were mirrored.
Then there was the food…oh, the food! Here are some of the fun things that we had:
Tortilla rolls made with dill cream cheese, cranberries and green onions – yum yum!
Tomatoes with basil (fresh from the garden pot) and bocconcini balls and cantaloupe balls with proscuito.
Berry Kabobs that my six year old daughter helped me make! We had a blast doing this together and she felt like such a big girl helper!
Sugar cookies – can you tell which ones were decorated by my daughter and which ones I did?! She made these cookies almost all by herself – including reading the recipe, rolling and cutting the dough and decorating (well….some of the decorating!)
One of the ladies brought these AMAZING ice cream treats – aren’t they fun?!
I can’t take credit for these cupcakes from Prairie Girl Bakery – OMG these cupcakes are SINFULLY delicious!
As much as it killed me to exclude my little guy from the girly festivities (he even asked if he could buy a pretty party dress and come to the party), having some girl fun once in a while is really SO much fun!
