Choosing baby names can be very challenging! You want the perfect name, one that both you and your child will be happy with.
When we chose our first child’s name we didn’t know whether or not it was going to be a girl or a boy so we picked out both. We narrowed down our top picks on a car ride to my inlaws one weekend. We started with the most popular names and then we went alphabetically, making a list of our favourites as we went.
After we went through the whole book and we had our list of boys and girls names, each of us re-ordered those names (within each gender) in order of most favourite to least favourite. We compared our lists and went from there.
It was an interesting journey and one that I will never forget.
My daughter is only six, but she has asked us many times how we came up her name. We tell her the story of the book, the car ride and how we chose to make it extra special just for her and for now, she’s happy and so therefore so are we!

After 9 months and hours and hours of looking at names. We finally pick the right name. It’s an exciting time picking them out, but when a child asks why. It is even more exciting.
