Back in September, I made the commitment to myself and my family that we would start to live greener lives.
In our home, we celebrate Earth Day every day!
Our earth is SO important!
What does that look like in our home?
- We make a conscious effort to do what we can to limit the number of chemicals and toxins that come into our homes by using Norwex microfibre cloths as much as possible along with other chemical free cleaning and personal care products.
- We have significantly decreased our use of paper towels by using cloths and water to do the majority of our cleaning.
- We recycle everything that we can.
- We use a natural laundry detergent that has no fillers and does not leach any nasty stuff into our water.
- We are conscious about turning off lights/appliances when they are not in use.
These are just a few of the ways that our family tries to be kind to our earth.
Tomorrow is a special day where we can take some extra time to celebrate Earth Day and commit to one or two new ways that we can help keep our planet happy on a regular basis.
Today, along with Country Fit Family, I am excited to share with you 5 fun ways to celebrate Earth Day!

I celebrate Earth Day by composting and separating our recyclables. Our little province has been doing that for some time now. I wash our laundry in cold water and hang clothes outside when the weather cooperates. I use water and clothes to do much of my cleaning.
We recycle everyday, and shop locally as much as possible and buy from local producers. Happy Earth Day everyday!
the DIY Watering Can from a Milk Jug is brilliant!! we celebrated Earth Day by cleaning up the garbage in the soccer fields and around the park
I love the DIY watering can. We do a lot throughout the year to protect our Earth from recycling to composting. We also grow a lot of our own fruits and veggies.
Learning about the planet is constant; you gain an appreciation for it this way. I try to emphasize how precious the earth is and how to constantly safe-guard and look after it. I just hope they are vigilant about their actions and continue with the lessons.
What great ideas for Earth Day! But it shouldn’t just be one day that we take into consideration how we treat the planet – it should be everyday.
I agree… Earth Day is EVERY day!
Yay!
We do as much as possible every single day to help our planet. The only thing I can’t do is hang my laundry out to dry and I find that really annoying. I’ve done it all my life and suddenly I’m not allowed to. I love the smell of clean clothes when they come off the washing line.
