The girls over at 5MinutesforMom.com are so awesome to put this event together every year and I truly appreciate their generous time and efforts to make this happen.
My name is Amanda. I live in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) and am a proud Canadian. I have two children; a 5 year old son and a newly turned 9 year old daughter. I absolutely love children and I ADORE babies, in fact one day I am considering becoming a Doula so that I can support pregnant and new Moms and HOLD LOTS OF BABIES! I am a former Kindergarten and music teacher. I taught until I had children and have been fortunate enough to stay home with them. My hobby of blogging has turned into my job and I feel so blessed to say that I absolutely LOVE what I do and I look forward to working every single day!
I love to talk about children, about raising children and about parenting. In fact, one of my most current blog posts explores the topic of what age can children begin walking to school alone? I enjoy talking with other parents and helping them to brainstorm ideas to help them with their current challenges. We all know that parenting is a super tough job, but the one thing we constantly need to remind ourselves of is that “this too shall pass” and “everything with children is a phase”. Those are my words to live by, they are what help me through those challenging moments as a parent.
My kids and I love to do crafts and our kitchen wall is covered in their beautiful artwork topped with a quote from Picaso “Every child is an artist”. Every Wednesday, I share a featured child friendly craft or activity along with a linky where other bloggers can link up their fun ideas for children!
I also blog over at Canadian Moms Cook with my co-author and friend Stacey from Did You Know Canada. We love to test out and share family friendly recipes.
My favourite recipe to date (that Stacey introduced me to) is for our No Knead Bread. It is the fastest, easiest and TASTIEST bread that I have ever made!
It is no secret that I adore babies and that is part of why I love my other job as Social Media and Community Manager for a great subscription box company for new and expectant Moms called MommiesFirst. I love helping pregnant and New Moms and enjoy engaging in meaningful conversations with the MommiesFirst community.
MommiesFirst is giving away a box during the Ultimate Blog Party!

Wow! Talk about a busy Mom! Laying it out like this in a blog post allows us all to see how much you really do! And what I admire most about you is the time and passion that you put into ALL of your jobs! I also like reading your blog because it helps me make informed decisions about products and issues…because you’ve done all of the research first and I trust your advice.
Awwww…thanks so much, CKhan! 🙂 I appreciate your kind words and that you took the time to comment – warm fuzzies all around!
Hi Amanda,
Jana and I are also Canadian and LOVE babies. We have the greatest job in the world because we get to hold them every day we go to work! Heading off to check out your Pinterest…
That absolutely IS the best job in the world! Thank you so much for visiting!
I have a thing for babies too! They smell so good. Well, until they, you know. hehe!
Glad to be partying with you chickee!
LOL yes, Brandy, I know….but would you believe that I’m one of those freaks who doesn’t mind changing baby diapers! 😉
I love babies too, there is a new one in my hubby’s family (his cousin’s daughter) and 2 more of his cousins are due in the next 2 months…..I will get my fill! I love the UBP – have fun partying!
Thanks so much for stopping by 🙂 New babies in the family are THE BEST!
Love to have fellow Canadians joining the party!
My oldest girl Julia is also almost 9 years old. While I do love holding babies, I could NEVER be a doula. The stress of delivery is something I want to stay away from. LOL
Hi Susan! Thank you so much for stopping by – you are awesome. Thank you so much for all of your hard work in putting this together!
Hi Amanda – I’m here from the UBP and am looking forward to exploring your blog and getting to know you a little more. What a great plan to become a Doula, you get to see all the babies coming into the world and watching ladies become mamas!
Thanks for visiting, Clare – truly appreciate you stopping by! Do you write a blog?
