The Elf on a Shelf is a brand new tradition for our family this Christmas. The morning after the Christmas decorations went up, Jack came to visit.
Jack is the name we gave our little scout elf who was sent from the North Pole to help Santa keep track of which kids have been naughty and which kids have been nice. Each night he flies back to report about the day’s activities. In the morning he is perched in a different place.
My kids love waking up in the morning and searching for Jack. Even though they are not allowed to touch him (for fear that he will lose his magic!), they delight in the game of searching for him and discovering what mischief he has been up to.
My eldest is only five, so Jack needs to be easy to find, and of course – not too racy.
Here are pictures of what Jack has been up to so far this year…

My entire craft room would be labelled! My goal for 2014 (it might take me all year) is to clean and organize my craft room. I need to get organized and this is something I’ll be getting to keep it all in order.

I have thousands of index cards that need to be put into tiny file boxes with dividers. A labeller would be great!
My partner and I both work from home. Our files are in atrocious shape!
Awesome story. Very difficult if impossible having any sort of balance in todays society!
Kitchen! All my spices and pantry items would be great!
I’d use it in my kitchen too…everyone puts things away in a different spot, and it’s always a search for something. 🙂
