Ubbi Diaper Pail {Review}

To set the scene, I must tell you that while my LO has what I think is a pretty cool nursery (it used to be our office) and it’s small (4’ x 7’), it’s tough keeping it looking tidy and a challenge to keep all of the items in the room functional yet stylish at the same time.

This past fall while attending a baby show, my husband and I saw a display of Ubbi Diaper Pails. We were immediately drawn to the modern, sleek look of them and started to ask questions. We were curious as to whether or not they were too good to be true. At the time, we were simply using an open garbage pail and changing it only when full as our LO didn’t have too many overwhelming smells – YET.

It was months later when I started to notice an odd smell in her nursery when I would open the door to get her from her naps or in the morning. I realized not too soon afterwards that it was her diapers (remember, I’m a new mom) – they had started to have a life of their own and our open concept pail was not going to cut it any more.

Needless to say, we decided to give the Ubbi Diaper Pail a try.

Here’s what we think:

• We love the modern look – we have the white one (it comes in all sorts of colours) which doesn’t stick out in our small space
• I LOVE the fact that we can use our own bags and don’t need to spend extra $ on specific liners. You do need the large kitchen bags as the pail is tall and the larger bags will fit nicely – we use the white kitchen garbage bags from Costco which tuck nicely around the mechanism inside
• The smell(s) are GONE from the nursery! The first time I changed the bag, I was overwhelmed with odour! That’s when I knew that the diaper pail really did work. We left the lid open to air it out a bit before putting the next bag in and it’s still working like a charm

I’m so pleased that our LO’s small space is scent free and that we have found a stylish solution to the stink.
