Rice Krispies Fun with #Kelloggs

Over the holidays, we had some dear friends over for a much over due visit. Last time we had them over, we made some fun treats for dessert, so I decided to make this part of our tradition.

This time, we made some fun holiday Rice Krispies Treats together. What I love about Rice Krispies treats is that we can modify them to go along with any occasion simply by changing up the decorations that we use.

Check out what the kids made this time:

You can find the recipe for how to make Rice Krispies Treats here.

Here are some tips that I have learned about making these treats over the years:

  • It is much easier to make these in the microwave than on the stove top.
  • If you are making shapes with your treats, let the treats cool for approximately 5-10 minutes before handling them to make them less sticky on your hands.
  • Grease your hands with oil prior to handling the treats

Do you make Rice Krispies Treats with your kids? Do you have any fun tips or techniques to share?

I just make the ordinary rice krispie treats in a pan. It didn’t occur to me they could be make into such fun treats!

January 15- I love the decorations that your children made with the Rice Krispy recipe and I know they had lots of fun doing them. When my granddaughers were younger, I would make large batches of cookies, cut them out into many
Christmas shapes and bake them. I would make up large batches of icing and have lots of goodies for decoration. Then three of these little ladies would decorate. I still have pictures of their results. They are adults now and still speak fondly of the years they spent decorating cookies and, of course, taking them home to be enjoyed by others. Elva Roberts
